What Webfleet does
Webfleet is a hosted fleet management platform built around the LINK series of vehicle devices and the PRO range of in-cab driver terminals. It covers live tracking, trip and fuel reporting, OptiDrive driver scoring, job dispatch to the driver terminal, remote tachograph download and driving-time analysis, plus a camera line added more recently. It began life as TomTom Telematics and carries the mapping and navigation heritage of that business. Bridgestone bought it in 2019 for 910 million euros and folded it into Bridgestone Mobility Solutions. That ownership is the fact that should change a shortlist. Webfleet is no longer a standalone software company optimising for software revenue; it is the data layer for a tyre and vehicle services business, which is why the roadmap has moved towards tyre pressure monitoring, predictive tyre replacement and bundled service contracts with Bridgestone maintenance offerings. If those services are useful to you, the bundle is genuinely cheaper than buying separately. If they are not, you are on a roadmap set by priorities that are not software priorities. The other decisive fact is geography. Webfleet is strongest in Europe, where remote tachograph download, driver card reading and EU driving-time rules are legal requirements that most American-built platforms treat as an afterthought. Fleets running across European borders get compliance features here that Samsara and Motive do not match. North American fleets get a smaller support footprint, a thinner reseller network and an hours of service product that is not the reason anyone buys Webfleet.

Is Webfleet still connected to TomTom?
No. TomTom sold the telematics business to Bridgestone in 2019. There is still navigation and mapping heritage in the driver terminals, but the owner and the strategy are Bridgestone.
Can it handle US ELD requirements?
There is an offering, but it is not the strength of the platform. A fleet whose main problem is US hours of service compliance should look at vendors built around that mandate.
Do I have to buy Bridgestone tyres to use it?
No. The tyre services integration is optional. It is worth pricing as a bundle if you already buy from Bridgestone, because that is where the discounting sits.
