ezyVet: Cloud-native with a wide integration catalogue and no diagnostics-vendor ownership

Medically oriented veterinary practice management, now owned by Antech and Mars Veterinary Health
As of 31 August 2026, VIA Veterinary's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A practice management system built around clinical workflow rather than the front desk, first released in 1999 and now part of Mars Veterinary Health via Antech. Softwr lists it under Veterinary. VIA Veterinary is made by VIA Veterinary Information Systems, an Antech company, available on Windows, Web, iOS.
Overview
VIA, short for Veterinary Information Assistant, is practice management software for veterinary hospitals, with a stated emphasis on medical workflow rather than reception. It carries integrated SOAP notes, treatment flowsheets, digital whiteboards, DICOM imaging, laboratory results, appointment scheduling, prescription processing, inventory, billing and client communication. It is sold both as a traditional on-premises installation and as VIA Cloud, with implementation, hardware management and support wrapped into the engagement. VIA Touch adds tablet-based use at the treatment area. The fact that changes a shortlist is ownership. VIA Information Systems is an Antech company and part of Mars Veterinary Health, the same group that owns Antech Diagnostics, Banfield, VCA and Sound imaging. Buying VIA means buying practice management software from your diagnostics supplier. In practice that means strong first-party integration with Antech laboratory and imaging, and a long-run roadmap set by a group with a direct interest in where your reference lab work goes. Practices that use IDEXX for in-house and reference diagnostics should test that integration specifically before committing, because it is the point where a corporately owned PIMS is most likely to be thinner than a neutral vendor. Buyers are multi-doctor small animal, emergency, referral, specialty, equine and multi-site hospitals, including large facilities with thirty or more veterinarians, where the flowsheet and whiteboard workflow matters more than the appointment book. Pricing is not published and comes through a sales process, so budgeting requires implementation, data conversion and hardware costs alongside the licence.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about VIA Veterinary.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for VIA Veterinary, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
