Mambu: If you want a more established composable core banking vendor with a longer track record

Modular core banking platform from Estonia, formerly branded Modularbank
As of 1 September 2026, Tuum's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A cloud-native, API-first core banking platform offering more than ten banking products across four modules that a bank can turn on independently, aimed at faster cloud migration than legacy core replacement projects typically allow. Softwr lists it under APIs. Tuum is available on Web, API.
Overview
Tuum provides core banking infrastructure spanning accounts, cards, lending and payments, organised into modules a bank can adopt selectively and connect to legacy systems through low-code or no-code integration middleware, aiming to let banks migrate to cloud infrastructure within months rather than the multi-year timelines typical of full core banking replacement. The fact worth noting is the rebrand: the company operated as Modularbank before renaming to Tuum, so due diligence, funding records and case studies from before the change still appear under the older name, and the two refer to the same Estonian company and platform, not a predecessor and successor product. It has since expanded from its Nordic and Baltic base toward the DACH region and the Middle East. Buyers are banks and fintechs, particularly in Europe and increasingly the Middle East, wanting modular core banking that integrates with existing legacy infrastructure rather than requiring a full rip-and-replace. The trade-off is that, like Mambu and other composable core providers, pricing is not published, and Tuum is a younger, smaller company than Mambu, meaning fewer live reference deployments and a shorter operating track record to evaluate against.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Tuum.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.
