External learning platform for companies that sell training to customers and partners as a product
As of 31 August 2026, Thought Industries's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Thought Industries is built for training that is sold rather than mandated, with commerce, licensing and multi-tenant delivery for business customers at its centre. Softwr lists it under LMS. Thought Industries is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Thought Industries is a customer education and external training platform. It is used by software companies, professional bodies, medical device manufacturers and publishers who deliver training to people outside their own payroll, and it treats commerce as a first class function rather than an add on. It handles paid catalogues, subscriptions, licence keys and seat allocation for corporate buyers, and multi-tenant delivery where each business customer receives a branded environment with its own administrator managing its own users. The pricing structure is the fact that changes the shortlist. Creator focused platforms often take a percentage of course revenue, or a lower flat fee with transaction charges layered on. Thought Industries charges an annual platform fee and takes no share of what is sold. Below a certain revenue level the percentage model is cheaper and the platform fee looks indefensible. Above it the arithmetic reverses hard, because a percentage of a growing training revenue line rises without bound while the platform fee does not. Work out your own crossover point in a spreadsheet before either sales conversation, since neither vendor will compute the comparison in the other direction for you. Buyers are heads of customer education and certification at companies where training is either a revenue line or a retention lever, typically with an existing training business rather than an aspiration to start one. The trade off is the entry cost and the implementation. This is an enterprise purchase with a meaningful annual floor and an implementation measured in months, and organisations without existing training revenue to justify it are better served by a lower cost platform until they have it.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Thought Industries.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Teachable: For individual creators and small teams selling courses, where enterprise tenancy and licence management are not needed.

Docebo: Where internal employee learning and external customer training must sit in one platform run by one team.

No. It charges an annual platform fee. That is more expensive than a revenue share at low volume and considerably cheaper once training revenue grows.
Yes. Multi-tenant delivery gives each business customer its own branded environment and administrator while content stays centrally managed.
It can do it, but you would be paying for commerce and tenancy features that internal compliance training does not use. A corporate learning platform is usually the better fit.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Thought Industries, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
