Docebo: Where internal employee learning and external customer education must run in one platform under one team.

Customer education platform that treats training completion as a commercial signal in the CRM
As of 31 August 2026, Skilljar's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Skilljar delivers onboarding and certification training to customers and partners and pushes engagement data back into Salesforce so training shows up next to renewal and expansion data. Softwr lists it under LMS. Skilljar is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Skilljar is a customer education platform used by software companies to onboard, train and certify the people who use their products. It provides a branded course catalogue that a prospect or customer reaches without a sales conversation, self paced and live training delivery, certification with expiry, and detailed reporting on who consumed what. Learners can be anonymous visitors, named contacts or seat holders inside a customer organisation. What sets it apart from a general learning platform is the direction the data flows. Skilljar is built to write learning activity back into the customer relationship management system, so a customer success manager sees that the three administrators at an account completed onboarding training, or that nobody at a renewing account has logged in since implementation. That turns training from a cost centre report into an account health signal, which is the argument that gets it funded, since customer education teams struggle to justify budget on completion counts alone. It is also why the platform is usually bought by a customer success or education leader rather than by learning and development. Buyers are software companies with an established customer education function and a Salesforce estate to plug into. The trade off is the floor. This is an annual enterprise contract quoted per deployment, and a team running its first certification pilot will spend more on the platform than the pilot is worth. Companies in that position generally start on a cheaper external training platform and move once the programme has revenue or retention evidence attached to it.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Skilljar.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

LearnWorlds: A far lower entry cost for teams building a first external training programme without enterprise CRM integration.

Absorb LMS: Comparable enterprise administration with a broader internal and external mix, worth quoting alongside.

A corporate learning platform reports on employees for compliance. Skilljar reports on customers for retention and expansion, and writes that activity into the CRM so account teams see it.
No. Catalogues can be public so prospects and customers browse and enrol without a sales conversation, which is a large part of the self serve onboarding case.
Usually not at the start. The contract floor assumes an established programme, so prove the value on a cheaper platform and move once retention or revenue evidence exists.
