CentralSquare: For a municipality that wants one asset and work management system across water, streets and facilities rather than a water-specific product.

Water utility asset management and field operations built on top of Esri ArcGIS
As of 1 September 2026, Sedaru's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Sedaru assumes your assets already live in Esri ArcGIS and works from that geodatabase rather than creating a second asset register. Softwr lists it under Utilities. Sedaru is made by Sedaru (Aquatic Informatics, Veralto), available on Web, iOS, Android, Cloud.
Overview
Sedaru is software for water and wastewater utilities covering asset management, work orders, field crew dispatch, hydraulic model integration, SCADA alarm context and capital planning. It is built around Esri ArcGIS as the system of record for assets, which is how most water utilities already organise their pipes, valves, hydrants and meters, and it presents operations and maintenance on that map rather than in an asset table divorced from location. The ownership matters commercially. Sedaru was acquired in 2021 by Aquatic Informatics, which is now part of Veralto, the water quality business spun out of Danaher in 2023. That places Sedaru inside a large water-focused corporate group alongside Hach and Aquatic Informatics data products, which is reassuring for longevity but also means the product is sold within a portfolio and priced accordingly rather than as a standalone tool with published rates. Buyers are municipal and regional water and wastewater utilities in North America, typically already Esri customers. The trade-off is the GIS dependency cutting both ways: utilities with a well-maintained ArcGIS geodatabase get a fast implementation because the asset data is already there, while utilities whose GIS is incomplete or out of date find that Sedaru surfaces those gaps in front of field crews on day one. Pricing is by subscription sized on the utility, quoted, and an Esri licence is a prerequisite cost that sits outside the Sedaru contract entirely.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Sedaru.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

IBM Maximo Application Suite: Large utilities with plant, fleet and network assets under one enterprise asset regime will find Maximo covers ground Sedaru does not.

Fiix: If the requirement is straightforward work order management for treatment plant equipment rather than network asset management on a map.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Yes. Sedaru is built on the ArcGIS geodatabase and the Esri licence is a separate purchase from Esri, not part of the Sedaru subscription.
Aquatic Informatics, which is part of Veralto, the water quality group spun out of Danaher in 2023.
For water network assets, largely yes. For plant equipment and facilities maintenance many utilities still run a separate CMMS.
No. Subscriptions are sized on the utility and quoted, with implementation and data preparation charged as services.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Sedaru, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
