LiveFaceSwap AI

Real-time face swapping into a virtual camera

As of 24 September 2026, LiveFaceSwap AI has a free plan and paid plans start at $12/month. Swaps faces in a live camera feed at under 500ms latency and outputs to a virtual camera, so it works inside OBS, Zoom and anything else that reads a webcam. Softwr lists it under Video Production. LiveFaceSwap AI is available on Web, Windows, macOS.

Overview

What LiveFaceSwap AI does

LiveFaceSwap AI changes the face in a live camera feed and hands the result to the rest of your machine as a virtual camera. That last part is the reason it exists: plenty of tools will swap a face in a video file afterwards, and very few will do it to a feed that OBS, a streaming setup or a meeting client can read as an ordinary webcam. It runs three modes on the same pipeline. Face Swap replaces your face with a preset reference or a portrait you upload. Try-On previews an outfit. Restyle applies an artistic or character treatment. All three respond to movement, framing and lighting as they happen, with the vendor quoting under 500 milliseconds of latency, and the processing runs in the cloud rather than locally, so there is no GPU requirement and no model to download. There is a browser preview that needs no installation and a desktop app for Windows 11 and macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon. The virtual camera output is the desktop app's job. Pricing is credits, metered per second of use, and the rate depends on which model is running: XMAX 2.0 burns 0.6 credits a second and the Lucy models 1.8 to 3.6. Subscriptions are $12 a month for 650 credits, $23 for 2,500 and $55 for 7,500, with 20 percent off on quarterly billing, and one-off packs are $59 for 4,000 credits or $119 for 10,000, which never expire. New accounts get up to 90 seconds free.

What people use it for

  • Streaming with a swapped face through OBS
  • Appearing as a character in a video call
  • Previewing an outfit on a live feed rather than a photo
  • Applying a stylised look to a webcam without a local GPU
  • Testing the effect in a browser before installing anything

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about LiveFaceSwap AI.

  • No free tier, only 90 seconds on signup. At 0.6 credits a second that is barely more than a look, and every plan is a subscription or a pack after it.
  • The cost depends on which model runs, and the difference is large: the Lucy models burn three to six times the credits of XMAX 2.0, so a plan's advertised minutes assume the cheapest one.
  • Processing is cloud-side, so a live camera feed leaves your machine for a third party. For a meeting under any confidentiality obligation that is a decision to make deliberately.
  • The desktop app, which is the only way to get virtual camera output, requires Windows 11 or macOS 13 on Apple Silicon. Intel Macs and Windows 10 are excluded.
  • No operator is disclosed beyond the trading name, which is worth knowing before sending a live feed of your own face to their servers.

Capabilities

Features

  • Virtual camera output

Presents the processed feed as a webcam, so OBS, streaming software and meeting clients pick it up with no integration work. Desktop app only.

  • Real-time face swap

Replaces the face in a live feed from a preset reference or an uploaded portrait, at a quoted latency under 500 milliseconds.

  • Try-On mode

Previews an outfit on the live feed rather than on a still photograph.

  • Restyle mode

Applies an artistic or character treatment to the feed, using the same pipeline as the swap.

  • Cloud processing

Runs the model remotely, so there is no local GPU requirement and nothing to download before the browser preview works.

  • Browser preview

Try it without installing anything, which is how the free 90 seconds is spent.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does it work with OBS and Zoom?

Yes, through the desktop app, which exposes the processed feed as a virtual camera. Anything that reads a webcam, including OBS, streaming software and meeting clients, picks it up without integration work. The browser preview does not provide virtual camera output.

What does LiveFaceSwap AI cost?

Subscriptions are $12 a month for 650 credits, $23 for 2,500 and $55 for 7,500, with 20 percent off quarterly. One-off packs are $59 for 4,000 credits and $119 for 10,000, and those never expire. New accounts get up to 90 seconds free.

Source
How fast are the credits used?

By the second, and it depends on the model: XMAX 2.0 costs 0.6 credits a second while the Lucy models cost 1.8 to 3.6. The minute figures quoted on each plan assume XMAX 2.0, so running Lucy shortens them by three to six times.

Source
Do I need a GPU?

No. Processing happens in the cloud, so there is no local GPU requirement and no model download. The consequence is that your camera feed is sent to their servers.

Source
What are the system requirements?

The desktop app needs Windows 11, or macOS 13 and later on Apple Silicon. The browser preview runs anywhere but cannot output a virtual camera.
