Nautilus Labs: If the requirement is vessel performance optimisation as an outcome rather than a data pipe, Nautilus delivers the application directly.

Vessel data infrastructure and satellite connectivity sold as a per-vessel subscription
As of 1 September 2026, Kongsberg Vessel Insight's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Vessel Insight is bought as data plumbing, not as an application. Softwr lists it under Maritime. Kongsberg Vessel Insight is made by Kongsberg Digital, available on Web, Cloud.
Overview
Vessel Insight is Kongsberg Digital's vessel-to-cloud data infrastructure. An onboard unit collects high-frequency data from engines, propulsion, navigation, cargo and automation systems, contextualises it against a standardised vessel data model, and transfers it ashore over included satellite bandwidth. Ashore, the data lands in the Kognifai ecosystem, where the shipowner can use Kongsberg applications or third-party applications published on the Kognifai marketplace, including vessel performance, hull and propeller monitoring, bunker planning and emissions reporting from independent vendors. The distinguishing decision is that Kongsberg sells the pipe rather than the answer. Bundling the onboard hardware and the data transfer cost into one per-vessel subscription removes the two things that usually kill maritime digitalisation projects, arguing about who pays for satellite bandwidth and installing a collection box during a busy port call. In exchange, the owner accepts that the operational insight, the part the fleet superintendent cares about, arrives as a second and third contract with application vendors on top. Buyers are shipowners and managers with mixed fleets, particularly those already running Kongsberg automation, propulsion or dynamic positioning equipment, where the data collection integration is straightforward. The trade-off is scope and lock-in: the subscription is per vessel per year and quoted, the data model is Kongsberg's, and an owner who later wants to move to a different data platform faces re-instrumenting every ship rather than switching a software contract.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Kongsberg Vessel Insight.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Vessel Insight
On request
Capabilities
Onboard data collection unit
Hardware installed on the vessel that gathers high-frequency automation, engine and navigation data
Bundled satellite transfer
Data transfer cost included in the subscription rather than billed against the ship's bandwidth budget
Standardised vessel data model
Normalises signals across different makes of engine and automation so a mixed fleet is comparable
Kognifai marketplace
Third-party applications for performance, emissions and bunkering consume the same data feed
Fleet dashboards
Shore-side views across the fleet without a per-vessel integration project
Kongsberg equipment integration
Direct access to Kongsberg automation, propulsion and dynamic positioning data
Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
Yes. The subscription bundles onboard hardware and data transfer, which is the main reason owners choose it over building their own collection.
No. Analytics and reporting applications are bought separately from Kongsberg or from third parties on the Kognifai marketplace.
No, but integration is deepest there. On other makers' automation the collectable signal set and the installation effort both vary.
Per vessel per year, quoted. Nothing is published, and installation timing depends on vessel availability.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Kongsberg Vessel Insight, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
