DemandStar is a bid notification and distribution network. Government agencies publish solicitations, and suppliers subscribe to be notified of opportunities matching their commodity codes and geography. It provides eBidding for electronic submission, a document library, plan holder lists and supplier registration, and it feeds bids into a searchable national marketplace. The platform is now part of Euna Solutions, the consolidated public sector portfolio formerly known as GTY Technology, and Euna markets it as Euna OpenBid, though it continues to operate under the DemandStar name at demandstar.com. The economics are the story. DemandStar is free for government agencies, with no strings, because suppliers fund the network. Suppliers get free notifications for a single agency of their choice, with bid document downloads charged at around 5 US dollars each.
