CREXi

Commercial real estate marketplace with a genuinely free core listing tier, monetised through PRO subscriptions for brokers and a separate Intelligence data product

As of 1 September 2026, CREXi is free to use. A CoStar and LoopNet competitor that leads with unlimited free listings rather than a paid placement default. Softwr lists it under Real Estate. CREXi is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What CREXi does

CREXi is a commercial real estate marketplace for listing, searching and, distinctively, running online auctions for commercial property. Unlike LoopNet, CREXi core listing and search functionality, including unlimited listings, is free for brokers and owners, not paywalled at the outset, which was central to how it took market share against the CoStar-owned incumbent. Monetisation happens in two separate layers on top of the free core: PRO subscriptions (Listing PRO, All PRO, Enterprise PRO) that add priority search placement, full lead contact details and targeted email campaigns for brokers who want more marketing power than the free tier gives them, and CREXi Intelligence, a standalone data product covering more than 153 million property records, sold to buyers who want CoStar-style comparable and ownership data without a CoStar contract. Buyers are commercial brokers wanting free-to-start listing exposure with optional paid upgrades, and separately, analysts and investors wanting an alternative CRE data source to CoStar or Reonomy. The trade-off is that the genuinely useful data and lead-detail features sit behind the PRO and Intelligence paywalls, so a broker who only uses the free tier gets exposure but not the lead-conversion tooling that makes CREXi competitive with paid-first alternatives.

What people use it for

  • A broker or owner wanting free, unlimited listing exposure without committing to a paid tier up front
  • A seller wanting a native online auction process rather than a traditional offer negotiation
  • A firm wanting a CoStar alternative for property records and comps without a CoStar contract
  • A broker who has outgrown the free tier and wants priority placement and full lead contact details through PRO

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about CREXi.

  • The genuinely useful lead-conversion features, full contact details and priority placement, sit behind PRO subscriptions with unpublished pricing, so the free tier is a lighter product than it first appears.
  • CREXi Intelligence is sold as a separate product from PRO listing subscriptions, so a broker wanting both marketing tools and data access is paying two distinct, unpublished prices rather than one bundled fee.
  • As a newer entrant against CoStar decades of proprietary data collection, CREXi Intelligence coverage and data quality in less-active markets may not match CoStar depth.
  • Auction infrastructure is a differentiator but only useful for sellers actually wanting a bid-based process, which is a minority of commercial transactions.
  • Free-tier listings compete for visibility against PRO-tier paid placement, so a broker relying only on the free product accepts lower search prominence than paying competitors.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is CREXi really free?

The core marketplace, including unlimited listings, is free. PRO subscriptions and CREXi Intelligence data are separate paid products layered on top.

Is CREXi Intelligence the same as PRO?

No. PRO is about listing placement and lead tools; Intelligence is a standalone property data product with 153 million-plus records, priced and sold separately.

Does CREXi compete with CoStar or LoopNet?

Yes on both fronts: the marketplace competes with LoopNet for listings, and CREXi Intelligence competes with CoStar and Reonomy for property data.
