Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Partiful
- No automatic email or SMS delivery to guests, requiring manual link sharing for event invitations
- Ticketing fees are not disclosed until setup time, making budget planning difficult for event hosts
- No support for interactive seat maps or assigned reserved seating for ticketed events
- Designed primarily for informal social events and works best for gatherings under 300 people
Regpack
- Plan prices are no longer published, so a buyer must enter a sales process before knowing whether the product is in budget, and cannot benchmark the quote against a list price.
- The conditional logic that makes it capable also makes it slow to configure, and complex registrations often take days of setup and testing rather than an afternoon.
- The applicant-facing interface is dated compared with modern form products, which matters when the form is the first impression a parent has of your programme.
- Because Regpack processes the payments, switching platforms means moving your merchant relationship and any stored instalment schedules, which raises the real cost of leaving well above the licence.
- Reporting is built around applicants and balances rather than programme analytics, so organisations wanting attendance, capacity or cohort analysis export the data elsewhere.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Partiful: Is Partiful free to use for creating events?
Yes. Creating events and inviting guests is completely free. Ticketing features are available with variable fees based on ticket price and event size, but the basic event creation and RSVP collection has no cost.
SourceRegpack: What does Regpack cost?
Plan prices are not published. Three tiers exist, SMB, Mid-Market and Mid-Market Plus, all annual and all quoted. The published number is the processing rate, from as low as 1.5%.
Partiful: Does Partiful support assigned seating or seat maps?
No. Partiful Ticketing supports tiered pricing and capacity limits but does not currently support interactive seat maps or assigned-seat reserved seating.
SourceRegpack: Is the 1.5% rate realistic?
It is the floor, dependent on volume and card mix. Ask for your quoted effective rate against your actual card mix rather than the advertised minimum.
Partiful: How does Partiful notify guests about events?
Partiful primarily uses link sharing rather than automated email or SMS delivery. Hosts must share event links with guests, typically via text message or social media.
SourceRegpack: Can it handle payment plans?
Yes, and that is one of its stronger areas: automatic instalments, deposits and partial payments with per-applicant balances.
Partiful: What ticketing features does Partiful support?
Partiful Ticketing supports tiered pricing for different ticket tiers, capacity limits with QR code check-in, and promo codes. However, it does not support ticket add-ons, waitlists for ticketed events, or individual refunds from the dashboard.
SourceRegpack: How hard is it to switch away?
Harder than most registration tools, because Regpack also processes your payments. Plan for moving merchant processing and any live instalment schedules.
