The short version
- Each has a real cost: Quantum Health nothing is published: no per employee per month rate, no implementation fee, no minimum eligible lives, so an employer cannot benchmark a Quantum quote against anything before entering a sales process.; Sectra sectra does not make scanners, so it cannot cross-subsidise software against modality hardware the way an integrated manufacturer can, and it often loses on headline price in a bundled tender.
- They diverge on capability: Quantum Health covers Care coordinator pods, Sectra covers Sectra IDS7.
- Prices and features above were last checked on 1 September 2026.

What people use each for
The jobs each tool is most often brought in to do.
Quantum Health
- A self insured employer of a few thousand staff whose members call the carrier, get transferred repeatedly and make expensive care decisions unsupportednot Sectra
- An employer that has bought many point solutions and needs someone to route members into the ones already fundednot Sectra
- A plan wanting intervention before an elective procedure is scheduled rather than a report about it afterwardsnot Sectra
- An employer that wants navigation without giving the same vendor the clinical delivery contractnot Sectra
Sectra
- A hospital group digitising histopathology that does not want a second image archive and a second integration project alongside radiologynot Quantum Health
- A regional health service replacing several departmental PACS with one archive and one clinician viewernot Quantum Health
- An imaging provider moving off a capital refresh cycle to a cloud subscription with predictable annual costnot Quantum Health
- A trust that needs to send and receive studies with neighbouring organisations routinely, where the Image Exchange Portal is already the regional normnot Quantum Health
Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Quantum Health
- Nothing is published: no per employee per month rate, no implementation fee, no minimum eligible lives, so an employer cannot benchmark a Quantum quote against anything before entering a sales process.
- It sells to self insured employers of roughly 500 employees and up, so smaller and fully insured employers are outside the model regardless of interest.
- Quantum navigates but does not deliver care, so it cannot close a loop with a visit of its own, and members who are steered still have to obtain an appointment through the ordinary network.
- The pod model depends on staffing continuity, and turnover in the coordinator teams degrades exactly the consistency that the pod concept sells, which is invisible in a demonstration.
- Savings are measured against counterfactual claims trend, so the number in the return on investment case depends heavily on the methodology chosen, and employers should insist on defining that methodology before signing rather than accepting the vendor own model.
Sectra
- Sectra does not make scanners, so it cannot cross-subsidise software against modality hardware the way an integrated manufacturer can, and it often loses on headline price in a bundled tender.
- Diagnostic AI is not built in house; Amplifier orchestrates third party algorithms, so the algorithms themselves need separate licences, separate clinical validation and separate information governance sign off.
- Sectra One Cloud is priced against a committed annual study volume, and organisations whose imaging activity grows faster than forecast meet overage charges partway through the term.
- The pathology module assumes you have already solved slide scanning and laboratory workflow, which is the larger and more expensive part of digitising histopathology and is not in Sectra scope.
- Depth of Epic and Oracle Health integration varies by region and by which modules you buy, so a reference site in Sweden is a weak predictor of what integration will cost a United States buyer.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Quantum Health: Is there a minimum employer size?
Quantum works with self insured employers of around 500 employees and up. It does not publish a hard minimum, but the model does not fit small or fully insured groups.
Sectra: Does Sectra include diagnostic AI?
No. Sectra Amplifier is a marketplace and orchestration layer for third party algorithms, each licensed and validated separately.
Quantum Health: Does Quantum provide the medical care?
No. It navigates, coordinates and steers, but care is delivered by the network. That is the deliberate difference from vendors that own their own virtual clinicians.
Sectra: Is pathology really on the same platform as radiology?
Yes, the pathology module uses the same archive and workflow engine, which is the main reason buyers digitising histopathology shortlist Sectra.
Quantum Health: What are the tiers?
Embold Plus for carrier compatible navigation, Quantum Flex for modular capability selection, and Quantum Signature for deeper clinical, pharmacy and provider steering integration.
Sectra: How is Sectra One Cloud priced?
On committed annual study volume plus the modules selected, as a subscription rather than a capital purchase. The vendor does not publish rates.
Quantum Health: Is pricing published?
No. No rates, implementation fees or minimum lives are disclosed. Expect a fully custom quote based on headcount, plan complexity, carrier relationships and modules.
Sectra: Is Sectra CE marked and FDA cleared?
The diagnostic viewing software carries CE marking under the medical device regulation and FDA 510(k) clearance for diagnostic interpretation, but the exact cleared indications differ per module and per market, so confirm for pathology specifically.
