Tucor has built two-wire decoder irrigation controllers since 1995 from Harmony, Pennsylvania. The current flagship NLP-C addresses up to 500 decoders and 125 sensors across 20 points of connection, running up to 50 programmes with 100 calendar start times, hydraulic-based scheduling, station prioritisation and MAD-based programming. It supports 20 flow sensors with high, low, deviation and unscheduled-flow alarms across up to 100 mains or pipe sections, and drives an eight-inch ruggedised touchscreen with LTE or Ethernet connectivity. NLPNet and Cycle Manager are the cloud layers. The detail that shapes the total cost is that NLPNet, the remote access service, is a yearly subscription with separate pricing depending on whether the controller connects over cellular or Ethernet. On a campus or estate with a dozen controllers, that choice made at install time sets a recurring cost for the life of the system, and a site that has no cabled network path is committed to the more expensive option indefinitely.
