What Case IH AFS Connect does

Case IH AFS Connect is the telematics and data layer that sits behind Case IH Advanced Farming Systems hardware: the AFS Pro 700 and Pro 1200 in-cab displays, AFS Vector and AccuTurn guidance, and the factory-fitted modems on AFS Connect Magnum, Steiger, Optum and Puma tractors and Axial-Flow combines. It streams machine location, fuel burn, engine load and yield data to a web portal and mobile app, lets a manager view the operator's display remotely, and pushes prescription and boundary files out to the cab without a USB stick. CNH has been folding the portal into a rebuilt front end called FieldOps, which merges the Case IH and New Holland experiences onto shared infrastructure. The commercially interesting change is Connectivity Included. For qualifying machines built and bought after 1 October 2024, the data subscription that Case IH previously billed annually is included for the life of the machine, and owners of older machines with a compatible modem can activate it through a dealer for a one-off fee rather than a renewal. That reverses the direction the whole sector was heading in and it changes the total cost comparison against John Deere Operations Center on a mixed fleet, because the ongoing line item disappears on the Case IH side. It does not make the platform free in any meaningful sense: the entry cost is the machine and the display, and a Pro 1200 display plus receiver is a five-figure option on a used tractor. Buyers are Case IH owners, which is the honest description. Nobody chooses AFS Connect on its merits against Climate FieldView or Trimble; they choose a Case IH tractor and inherit the platform, then decide how much of their agronomy to keep inside it. Mixed-colour fleets are the real friction point, because coverage of competitor machines is thin and the API partnerships CNH has opened up are the escape hatch rather than a native feature. The trade-off is a platform that is genuinely good at machine and fleet management and noticeably weaker at agronomy, records and compliance than the software-first products.

The agronomic side is weaker than software-first platforms: field records, input tracking and compliance reporting are shallower than Agworld or Conservis and most serious growers export to something else.
The entry cost is hardware, not software; a Pro 1200 display and receiver retrofit runs into five figures per machine, which is the real barrier for anyone hoping to add the platform to an older tractor.
Connectivity Included only applies to qualifying machines from October 2024 onward, so a farm with a five-year-old fleet still faces a per-machine dealer activation fee and older modems may not be eligible at all.
Dealer dependency is total: activations, subscription changes and most troubleshooting route through the dealer rather than a self-service portal, which makes response times a function of your local dealership rather than CNH.

Do I still pay an annual subscription?

Not on qualifying machines built and purchased from 1 October 2024, where connectivity is included. Older machines with a compatible modem can be activated through a dealer for a one-time fee.

Can I use it with John Deere or New Holland machines in the same fleet?
