What Lindsay FieldNET does
FieldNET is Lindsay Corporation's irrigation management platform. It has three practical layers. Pivot Watch is a low-cost monitoring-only device that tells you whether the pivot is running and where it is. FieldNET Pivot Control and Pivot Control Lite are retrofit control panels that add full remote start, stop, speed and endgun control. FieldNET Advisor sits on top as a scheduling and decision-support engine, combining soil, crop growth stage, weather and system capacity into a recommendation of how much water to apply and when. The fact that decides shortlists is brand independence. Lindsay makes Zimmatic pivots, so the natural assumption is that FieldNET is a Zimmatic accessory. It is not. Pivot Control is explicitly designed to retrofit almost any electric pivot and growers routinely run Valley, Reinke and Zimmatic machines through one FieldNET account. For a farm that has bought pivots from three dealers over twenty years, that is the difference between one app and three. Reported costs are around $1,700 per Pivot Control unit plus installation, and roughly $300 per unit per year for the subscription; Pivot Watch is cheaper on both counts because it only monitors. - FieldNET Advisor is priced separately from control, so the scheduling intelligence that justifies the platform is an additional line item rather than part of the subscription.
- Cellular coverage decides whether it works; pivots in a coverage hole get intermittent control and alerts, which is the worst possible failure mode for a system you have stopped driving out to check.
- Support and installation run through Lindsay dealers, so a farm in a territory with a weak dealer gets slow retrofits and slow fault resolution regardless of what the platform can do.
