MachineMetrics: If you want machine level monitoring on discrete equipment rather than an enterprise data layer

Enterprise manufacturing data platform that builds a plant data model rather than a dashboard
As of 31 August 2026, Sight Machine's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Sight Machine normalises machine, quality and process data across plants into one model so a large manufacturer can compare sites that measure things differently. Softwr lists it under Manufacturing. Sight Machine is made by Sight Machine, Inc., available on Web, API.
Overview
Sight Machine is a manufacturing data platform for large multi plant manufacturers. It ingests data from machines, control systems, historians, MES, quality systems and ERP, transforms it into a standardised model of plants, lines, machines, cycles and products, and makes that model available for analysis, dashboards and increasingly for natural language querying by plant staff. It is used in automotive, consumer packaged goods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and heavy industry. The distinguishing work is the modelling, not the visualisation. A large manufacturer with twenty plants typically has twenty different definitions of a cycle, a stoppage and a good part, which is why global performance comparisons in these companies are famously untrustworthy. Sight Machine positions itself as the layer that reconciles those definitions into one schema, so a corporate operations team can compare a line in Ohio with a line in Poland and defend the number. That is a data engineering proposition, and it is why the company has attracted investment and partnership from cloud and data platform vendors rather than from automation vendors. The buyer is a corporate manufacturing or digital function at a large enterprise, not a plant manager with a budget. The trade off is scale and effort. Onboarding is a data project measured in months per plant, the value depends on instrumentation that already exists, and the pricing reflects enterprise data volumes. A single plant wanting to know which machine stopped last night should not be looking at this category at all.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Sight Machine.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Cloud data platform delivery
Runs on and shares data with enterprise cloud and warehouse environments
Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
It can produce OEE, but buying it for OEE alone is expensive. The reason to buy it is cross plant data standardisation.
It reads from historians, control systems and MES. Some source of machine data is a prerequisite.
Plan in months per plant, depending on how many sources and how inconsistent the existing definitions are.
A corporate manufacturing, quality or digital function. It is rarely a plant level purchase.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Sight Machine, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
