Mobile-first learning and talent development for hourly and frontline workforces
As of 31 August 2026, Schoox's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Schoox is built for restaurant, retail and hospitality workforces where staff turn over several times a year and train on a phone during a shift. Softwr lists it under LMS. Schoox is available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
Schoox is a learning and talent development platform for organisations with large hourly workforces, most visibly restaurant groups, hotels, retailers and franchised businesses. It combines course delivery, on the job observation checklists, content in many languages, career pathing and performance tracking, and it is designed around a phone rather than a desk, because the learner is on a shift and does not have a company laptop or in many cases a company email address. The segment shapes everything and explains the buying decision. Frontline workforces churn, sometimes at over one hundred per cent annually, and that fact interacts violently with the pricing unit. A vendor charging per registered user bills for everyone who has ever been enrolled unless accounts are actively archived, so a five thousand seat restaurant group can be paying for twelve thousand records. A vendor charging per active user bills only for people who logged in during the period. A vendor charging per course charges neither way. These are three different products from a purchasing point of view, and no vendor will restate its price in a competitor unit, so the buyer has to model it. In this segment the modelling is worth more than any feature comparison. Buyers are learning and development directors in multi site hospitality, food service and retail, and franchisors who need to push brand standards training into franchisee operated locations they do not directly employ. The trade off is that the corporate depth expected by an office based enterprise, complex competency frameworks, deep human resources system integration and sophisticated analytics, is not the priority here, and buyers from that world find it lighter than they expect.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Schoox.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

TalentLMS: Simpler and cheaper where the workforce is smaller and observation checklists and franchise structures are not needed.

Docebo: Deeper analytics and enterprise integration for organisations whose requirements have moved beyond frontline delivery.

Absorb LMS: Strong reporting and administration for mixed workforces where office based compliance matters as much as frontline training.

Frontline turnover can exceed one hundred per cent a year. Per registered user pricing bills for accumulated accounts, per active user pricing bills only for monthly logins, and the gap between the two can be several times the annual cost.
Yes. That is a core design assumption in this segment, and accounts can be provisioned without corporate email.
Yes. Central content with local administration by franchisee is a standard configuration, though completion still depends on franchisee cooperation rather than on the software.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Schoox, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
