NetBase Quid

Consumer and market intelligence combining social listening with unstructured text analytics

As of 31 August 2026, NetBase Quid's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. NetBase Quid merged a social listening engine with a text analytics platform that reads news, patents, earnings calls and research reports. Softwr lists it under Business Intelligence. NetBase Quid is made by Quid (NetBase Quid), available on Web.

Overview

What NetBase Quid does

NetBase Quid is a consumer and market intelligence platform formed from the merger of NetBase, a social media analytics vendor, and Quid, an AI text analytics vendor. The social side monitors and classifies public conversation with sentiment and emotion analysis; the Quid side ingests structured and unstructured corpora such as news archives, patents, company filings, earnings call transcripts and research documents, and renders them as network maps that cluster related documents so an analyst can see the shape of a topic rather than a list of hits. The distinguishing capability is that second half. Most social listening tools tell you what consumers are saying this week. Quid network visualisations let a strategy or insights team ask what an entire market is talking about across years of news and patent filings, and where the white space sits. That is why it is bought by corporate strategy and consumer insights functions rather than by social media managers, and why it competes with consultancy engagements as much as with other software. The business now presents itself as Quid, with netbasequid.com redirecting to quid.com, and offers Quid Terminal, Quid Discover, Quid Monitor and an agent library on top. Buyers are enterprise insights, strategy and brand teams at large consumer companies and agencies. The trade-offs are cost, which is consistently reported as high enough to be out of reach for small teams, and an interface complex enough that most deployments depend on a small number of trained power users.

What people use it for

  • A consumer goods strategy team mapping five years of category news and patent filings to find unserved product territory
  • A brand insights function tracking how consumer language about an ingredient shifts across social and news simultaneously
  • A corporate development team sizing an adjacent market from filings, transcripts and press before commissioning a consultancy
  • An agency building a category point of view for a pitch that needs evidence broader than social conversation alone

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about NetBase Quid.

  • Nothing about pricing is published and the review sites carry no plan data either, so you cannot size a budget without entering a sales process, and reported costs put it out of reach of small and mid-sized teams.
  • The two halves of the platform came from separate companies and still feel like separate products, which means the workflow from a social finding to a market-map investigation involves more manual bridging than the marketing implies.
  • The network visualisations are compelling in a demo and demanding in practice; teams without an analyst who understands clustering tend to produce pretty maps they cannot defend in a meeting.
  • Historical social data beyond the contracted window is typically an additional cost, so a retrospective study you did not scope at signing turns into a change order.
  • The rebrand from NetBase Quid to Quid has left documentation, support material and third-party integration listings under a mixture of names, which makes finding accurate current information about the product harder than it should be.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is NetBase Quid the same as Quid?

Yes. The merged company now trades as Quid and netbasequid.com redirects to quid.com.

Does it publish pricing?

No. Contracts are annual and quoted, and independent review sites list no plan pricing at all.

Is there a trial?

The site offers a two-week trial on request rather than open self-service signup.

Is this a replacement for a social listening tool?

It can be, but you would be paying for the market intelligence half as well. If you only need social monitoring, cheaper tools cover it.
