What GAMAYA does
GAMAYA is a Swiss company that started with hyperspectral crop imaging and has since become a sugarcane analytics business. The current products are CanaSight for harvest and sugar content prediction, CanaTrace for streamlining RenovaBio certification, and AquaView for irrigation optimisation using soil moisture and imagery. The company reports monitoring around four million hectares, concentrated in Brazil, India, southern Africa and the United States, with a secondary line in viticulture inherited from the Terraview side of the business. The corporate history matters because the original Gamaya is not the company you would be buying from. Gamaya and Terraview merged in July 2024 and the combined business trades under the GAMAYA name from Winterthur in Switzerland. Anyone evaluating it on the basis of the 2018 to 2021 hyperspectral drone story is evaluating a company that no longer exists in that form. The pivot to sugarcane and to Brazilian decarbonisation certification is a deliberate narrowing towards a market where the software has a regulatory reason to be bought. That regulatory hook is the buying case. RenovaBio is Brazil's biofuel decarbonisation programme and CBIO credits have a market price, so software that increases certified CBIOs per hectare has a directly calculable return rather than a hypothetical agronomic one. If you are a sugarcane mill or a large supplier in Brazil, that arithmetic is straightforward. If you are anywhere else, or growing anything else, GAMAYA is a narrow product with little reason to be on your shortlist, and no pricing is published to help you decide quickly.

The honest half
Where it falls short
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about GAMAYA.
- The product is now effectively sugarcane specific, so growers of anything other than cane or grapes will find little of the original broad crop coverage left.
- The 2024 merger with Terraview means the company, product line and roadmap differ substantially from the Gamaya that raised money as a hyperspectral imaging startup, and older references describe a business that no longer exists.
- Much of the commercial value is tied to Brazil's RenovaBio scheme, so a change in CBIO prices or programme rules would cut the return calculation directly and is entirely outside the vendor's control.
- No pricing is published at any tier, and with an enterprise sales motion aimed at mills, a single grower has little chance of a fast or cheap engagement.
- As a small European company selling into Brazil, India and southern Africa, local support depth and language coverage are stretched, and implementation depends on partners rather than the vendor.
