Craftable

Back of house inventory, invoice processing and costing built first for beverage led venues

As of 31 August 2026, Craftable's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A restaurant back office platform that began as a bar inventory tool and still counts beverage better than food. Softwr lists it under Restaurants. Craftable is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Craftable does

Craftable, previously sold under the Bevager and Foodager names, handles inventory counting, supplier invoice capture, purchasing, recipe and plate costing and accounts payable export for restaurants, bars and hotel food and beverage departments. Counts are taken on a mobile device, invoices are digitised to line item level, and costed recipes are kept current as supplier prices move. The distinguishing capability is depth on beverage. Bottles are counted by weight on a connected scale rather than estimated by eye, pours are costed to the fraction of an ounce, and variance is reported against POS depletion by product and by bartender. That matters commercially because liquor is the highest margin and highest shrinkage category in most venues, and a one point improvement in pour cost is usually worth more than the entire subscription. Food costing is present and competent but it is not the reason anyone chooses this product. Buyers are cocktail bars, hotel food and beverage teams, and restaurant groups where the bar carries the margin. The trade off is the module structure and the setup effort. A venue that wants both beverage and food control pays for both modules, and the first count plus item mapping against supplier catalogues is a project measured in weeks, not an afternoon.

What people use it for

  • A cocktail bar where liquor shrinkage is material and eyeballed bottle counts are not accurate enough
  • A hotel food and beverage department running several outlets and one central store
  • A restaurant group that needs supplier invoices coded and exported to Sage Intacct without manual entry
  • An operator who wants pour cost variance reported by bartender rather than only by venue

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Craftable.

  • Beverage and food are separately licensed modules, so a venue with a full bar and a full kitchen is quoted twice for the same address and the effective per venue cost is roughly double the headline.
  • Invoice digitisation only helps if your suppliers are covered and their documents are legible; a venue buying from small local producers with handwritten dockets will still key those in by hand.
  • Accurate variance depends on counting on a fixed cadence, and venues that slip from weekly to monthly counts get numbers too stale to act on, which is the most common reason implementations quietly fail.
  • Weight based counting needs connected scales at each venue, an unbudgeted hardware cost that grows with the number of bars in the building.
  • Implementation requires mapping every item to supplier catalogue codes and building recipes before the first useful report, typically several weeks of a manager time that nobody has allocated.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is Craftable the same product as Bevager and Foodager?

Yes. Those were the beverage and food product names before the platform was consolidated under the Craftable brand; they are now modules rather than separate products.

Does it replace my accounting system?

No. It codes and exports invoices into an existing ledger such as QuickBooks or Sage Intacct rather than becoming the ledger.

Do I need the scale hardware?

Only for beverage. Weighing partial bottles is what makes liquor variance reliable; without it you are back to tenth of a bottle estimates.

Can it handle multiple venues under one group?

Yes, with consolidated reporting across venues, but each venue is priced individually.
