Spark Mail: If you want AI drafting and summaries and are willing to pay for them

Free multi-account email client from Blix with unified inbox, smart filters and calendar
As of 1 September 2026, Bluemail is free to use. A cross-platform email client that unifies Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Exchange and IMAP accounts into one inbox at no cost for individual use. Softwr lists it under Productivity. Bluemail is made by Blix Inc., available on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS.
Overview
Bluemail is made by Blix, which also makes the Blue Mail for Business product, and it connects to essentially any account type: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Exchange and generic IMAP or SMTP. It combines a unified inbox, colour-coded accounts, an integrated calendar, and machine-learning-based smart filters that sort mail without the user writing rules, across desktop and mobile. What distinguishes it in this cluster is the pricing floor: the core individual product is free with no forced trial or account limit, where Spark gates its AI features and Canary gates most conveniences behind an annual fee. Bluemail funds itself through a separate paid Business tier aimed at teams needing shared inboxes, admin controls and directory integration, so the free consumer client is effectively subsidised by that side of the business. Buyers are individuals with several accounts who want one client without paying anything, and IT teams evaluating the Business tier for organisation-wide deployment. The trade-off is that its AI capabilities are far behind Spark and Canary, its interface is dense with settings that take time to learn, and support for the free tier is community-based rather than direct.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Bluemail.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Bluemail, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
