The short version

  • Each has a real cost: Ameyo no pricing is published anywhere for any deployment model, so budgeting requires a sales cycle and there is no way to sanity-check a quote against a public rate card.; Observe.AI transcription accuracy is the most frequent complaint in independent reviews and degrades on noisy audio, accented speech and overlapping speakers, which matters because QA scores, compliance reports and coaching plans all inherit the error silently.
  • They diverge on capability: Ameyo covers Predictive and progressive dialling, Observe.AI covers Interaction Intelligence.
  • Prices and features above were last checked on 31 August 2026.

What people use each for

The jobs each tool is most often brought in to do.

Ameyo

  • An Indian bank or insurer is barred by data localisation or internal policy from putting customer call recordings in a public cloud, and needs a contact centre platform that installs on its own infrastructure.not Observe.AI
  • A collections or telesales operation with hundreds of agents needs predictive dialling tuned for high contact volume, which the light cloud phone systems do not provide.not Observe.AI
  • A BPO serving Indian and Middle Eastern clients needs one platform that can be deployed on-premise for one client and in the cloud for another without retraining supervisors.not Observe.AI
  • An organisation wants voice, WhatsApp and email handled on a single agent desktop in a market where WhatsApp is the dominant customer channel.not Observe.AI

Observe.AI

  • A 300-seat contact centre whose QA team samples four calls per agent per month and cannot defend the resulting scores to agents or to the union.not Ameyo
  • A regulated collections or financial services operation that must evidence compliance language on every call rather than on a sample.not Ameyo
  • A supervisor group that wants live nudges on the agent desktop during difficult calls instead of feedback a fortnight later.not Ameyo
  • A voice of the customer programme that needs reasons for churn extracted from calls and pushed into Snowflake alongside CRM data.not Ameyo

Where each one falls short

Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.

Ameyo

  • No pricing is published anywhere for any deployment model, so budgeting requires a sales cycle and there is no way to sanity-check a quote against a public rate card.
  • On-premise deployment means you also buy servers, telephony connectivity, professional services and ongoing administration, and the licence is often the smaller half of the true cost.
  • The Exotel acquisition has moved investment towards the newer XTRM cloud line, which creates a real question about how long the classic on-premise product will receive substantial development.
  • It is engineered around large agent counts in low-cost labour markets, so a twenty-seat Western operation gets an interface and an implementation process designed for a very different scale.
  • Self-service is limited: unlike Talkdesk or Five9 there is no meaningful way to trial, configure and launch without vendor involvement, so time to first call is measured in weeks rather than days.

Observe.AI

  • Transcription accuracy is the most frequent complaint in independent reviews and degrades on noisy audio, accented speech and overlapping speakers, which matters because QA scores, compliance reports and coaching plans all inherit the error silently.
  • A reported 100-agent minimum with an annual commitment puts the entry ticket in the tens of thousands per year and rules out sub-100-seat contact centres regardless of fit.
  • Non-English coverage is weak; multilingual and heavily accented operations repeatedly report the product does not meet their needs, which constrains EMEA, LATAM and APAC deployments.
  • Implementations run for months and need dedicated internal resource, and at least one detailed public review describes paying for three months of implementation that produced nothing usable.
  • Modular pricing hides total cost: the roughly $69 per agent per month figure on AWS Marketplace covers one module, so a buyer anchoring on it will be off by a wide margin once the platform fee and module mix are added.
  • There has been no disclosed funding round since April 2022 while Genesys, Five9 and NICE bundle conversation intelligence natively, so vendor viability is a live question on a three-year contract.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages

Ameyo: Is Ameyo still a separate product after the Exotel acquisition?

Yes. It is branded Ameyo by Exotel and keeps its own website, product line and roadmap. It has not been folded into the Exotel product.

Observe.AI: What is the smallest contact centre that can buy this?

Reports put the minimum at around 100 agents on an annual commitment. Below that, expect to be turned away or quoted uneconomically.

Ameyo: Can I still deploy Ameyo on-premise?

Yes, and it is one of the few remaining contact centre platforms offering a genuine on-premise install alongside cloud and hybrid.

Observe.AI: Is pricing published?

No. The public pricing URL returns a 404. Everything is quoted. The only public datapoint is a single-module AWS Marketplace listing, which is not the platform price.

Ameyo: What does Ameyo cost?

It is quote-only. Nothing is published for cloud or on-premise, and on-premise adds infrastructure and professional services on top of licensing.

Observe.AI: Does it work in languages other than English?

Poorly, by the account of its own customers. Treat non-English contact centres as a proof-of-concept requirement, not an assumption.

Ameyo: Where is it sold?

Primarily India and Southeast Asia, with customers in the Middle East and Africa. It is not a mainstream choice in Europe or North America.

Observe.AI: Is this the same company as Observe Inc?

No. Observe Inc at observeinc.com is an observability and logging vendor. The domain confusion causes real procurement errors.
