RevenueCat: Subscription infrastructure with its own paywall testing, if one vendor is preferable to two

Remotely configured mobile paywalls that can be tested and changed without shipping an app update
As of 31 August 2026, Superwall is free to use. Paywall experimentation for iOS and Android where the paywall is delivered from the server, so pricing, copy and layout change without an App Store review. Softwr lists it under Mobile Development. Superwall is available on iOS, Android.
Overview
Superwall separates the paywall from the application binary. The app asks Superwall what to show at a given moment, and Superwall returns a paywall defined in its dashboard, chosen by whatever experiment or audience rule is active. Teams can run multiple paywall variants concurrently, measure conversion and revenue per variant, and roll out the winner immediately rather than waiting on review queues. The commercial argument is release cycle speed. A subscription app's revenue is determined largely by the paywall, and testing paywall changes through app releases means a handful of experiments a year, each confounded by the release itself. Moving the paywall server side turns that into a weekly cadence. That is a genuine change in how a subscription business is run, not a convenience feature. The boundary matters when buying. Superwall handles presentation and experimentation; it does not manage entitlements, receipt validation or the messy realities of store subscription state. Most teams therefore pay for Superwall and a subscription infrastructure product such as RevenueCat or run StoreKit themselves, and the two must agree about who a subscriber is. Buyers should price both and check the integration works the way they expect before committing, because a disagreement between paywall and entitlement systems shows up as customers who paid and cannot access what they bought.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Superwall.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Yes in nearly all cases. Superwall presents and tests the paywall; something else must own entitlements and receipts.
Yes. Configuring presentation remotely is normal; the purchase itself still goes through the store billing APIs.
Enough paywall impressions per variant to detect a few percentage points of conversion difference. Below a few thousand a week, results will mislead.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Superwall, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
