Overview
Emerge Tools analyses iOS and Android builds and reports how they change: which modules and dependencies grew, what the App Store download size will be, how launch time moved, and whether image assets or duplicated code are responsible. The results appear as a comment on the pull request, which puts the information in front of the engineer who caused the change rather than in a dashboard nobody opens. It also does snapshot testing of views and a dead code detection product for iOS. The reason this exists as a purchasable product is that app size has a measurable effect on install conversion, particularly on Android in markets with constrained devices and data, and no platform vendor gives you a per change breakdown. Once an application passes a few hundred megabytes, size regressions arrive one dependency at a time and are effectively invisible until someone audits the binary. Continuous per pull request measurement converts an occasional audit into a control. Buyers are platform or mobile infrastructure teams at companies with a large app and enough engineers to cause size drift, which is roughly the population that already runs a mobile release engineering function. The trade off is that value is proportional to app size and team size.
