ClassDojo: If the need is family communication and behaviour rather than filtering and safeguarding

Web filtering, student safety monitoring and device management for K-12 schools
As of 31 August 2026, Securly's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A K-12 filtering and student wellbeing suite sold as separate modules, with human analysts reviewing flagged self-harm and violence alerts around the clock. Softwr lists it under Education. Securly is made by Securly, Inc., available on Web, iOS, Android, Chrome OS.
Overview
Securly sells a set of school technology products around one Chrome and Windows agent: Filter for CIPA-compliant web filtering on and off the school network, Aware for scanning student email, documents and search activity for self-harm, violence and bullying signals, On-Call for a staffed team that reviews the most serious alerts overnight and escalates to named district contacts, Classroom for teacher screen monitoring, MDM for Apple device management and Pass for digital hall passes. Home is a free parent app that reports on a child's school device activity. The module that decides most purchases is On-Call. Automated safety alerting produces a volume of flags that a district technology team cannot triage at 2am, and the liability question a superintendent asks is who reads the alert when nobody is at work. Securly answers that with a staffed service rather than a dashboard, and it is the reason districts pay for the suite instead of relying on Google Workspace's own admin controls. It is also the reason total cost is much higher than the filter line item suggests. Buyers are US and UK K-12 districts and multi-academy trusts, usually purchasing through a co-operative or framework rather than direct. Pricing is per student per year and stacks by module, so a district that adds Aware, On-Call and Pass to Filter can pay several times the headline filtering rate. Contracts are annual, commonly signed for three years to hold the rate.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Securly.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Not on its own site. Tiered per-student rates for Filter appear in some US purchasing co-operative catalogues, falling as enrolment rises, but Aware, On-Call, Classroom, MDM and Pass are quoted.
Aware is the automated detection that produces alerts. On-Call is the staffed service that reads the serious ones out of hours and phones your escalation contacts. Buying Aware alone leaves the triage with your own staff.
Yes, filtering follows the managed device rather than the network, which is the point for take-home Chromebook programmes.
Securly signs the US Student Privacy Pledge and district data processing agreements; check the specific DPA rather than the marketing page, since scanning scope and retention are negotiated terms.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Securly, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
