Zip

Procurement intake and orchestration that sits on top of the systems you already run

As of 31 August 2026, Zip's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Zip puts one request front door in front of finance, legal, security and IT approvals, then drives the existing ERP and ticketing systems rather than replacing them. Softwr lists it under ERP. Zip is available on Web, iOS.

Overview

What Zip does

Zip is a procurement orchestration platform. An employee raises a request in one place, and Zip routes it through whichever approvals the purchase requires: budget owner, finance, legal review, security assessment, data privacy, tax. It integrates with the ERP, the contract system, the ticketing tool and the identity provider, creating purchase requisitions and records in those systems as the request progresses. The distinguishing insight is that intake, not transaction processing, is where procurement fails. Large organisations already own a source-to-pay suite; what they lack is a route by which an ordinary employee can start a purchase without knowing procurement policy. Zip sells the front door and the workflow, and deliberately does not try to replace the ledger underneath, which makes it addable to an existing stack rather than a rip-and-replace decision. Buyers are mid-market and enterprise companies with a real procurement function, often technology and financial services firms with heavy third-party risk obligations. The trade-off is that Zip is another platform on top of platforms you are already paying for, its value depends entirely on the quality of the integrations into your specific systems, and pricing is quoted with no published rate card, so benchmarking requires talking to peers.

What people use it for

  • A company that owns a source-to-pay suite nobody uses because employees cannot navigate it
  • An organisation where every software purchase needs security, legal, privacy and finance sign-off and currently does it in email threads
  • A finance team that keeps discovering contracts that auto-renewed because nobody owned the renewal date
  • A business needing an auditable record of who approved a third-party engagement and on what evidence

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Zip.

  • It is a layer on top of systems you already pay for, so the business case rests on adoption and cycle time rather than replacing a licence, and that is harder to defend to a finance director cutting software spend.
  • Value depends entirely on integration depth into your specific ERP and ticketing tools, and a shallow connector reduces it to a workflow tool that someone rekeys out of.
  • Pricing is not published and is structured around company size and integration scope, so buyers cannot benchmark without peer references.
  • If procurement policy itself is unclear, Zip encodes the confusion: the tool routes requests according to rules someone must first write, and organisations without that clarity see slow implementations.
  • It does not do sourcing, auctions or spend analysis, so organisations expecting a full procurement capability will still need a suite or specialist tools alongside it.

Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is this the buy now pay later company?

No. This is Zip at ziphq.com, a procurement orchestration platform, unrelated to the payments company of the same name.

Does it replace Coupa or Ariba?

No, and that is the point. It sits in front of them, providing the intake and approval experience employees actually use, and writes back into the suite.

What does it cost?

Not published. Quoted by company size, modules and the integrations you need. Get peer benchmarks before negotiating.

What is the prerequisite for success?

A written procurement policy. Zip automates the routing rules you give it; if nobody can say who approves what, implementation stalls.
