Ivalua: If you want software only, with direct materials depth and independent implementation partners

Enterprise source-to-pay from a vendor that also sells the consulting and the outsourced procurement team
As of 31 August 2026, GEP SMART's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A unified procurement platform from GEP, which is simultaneously a software vendor, a procurement consultancy and a business process outsourcer. Softwr lists it under ERP. GEP SMART is made by GEP Worldwide, available on Web, iOS, Android.
Overview
GEP SMART is a cloud source-to-pay platform covering spend analysis, category management, sourcing events, contract management, supplier management and risk, procure-to-pay, invoicing and savings tracking. It sits alongside GEP NEXXE for supply chain and GEP QUANTUM as the underlying AI and integration layer. GEP sells globally with a strong presence in manufacturing, consumer goods, life sciences and financial services. What makes GEP different from other enterprise suites is that the software is one of three businesses. GEP Strategy sells procurement consulting and category strategy, and GEP Managed Services sells outsourced sourcing and procurement operations. Deals frequently combine all three, which is genuinely useful for an organisation that lacks category expertise as well as software, and genuinely risky if you want a software vendor rather than a relationship that absorbs your procurement function. The savings a consultancy attributes to itself are hard to audit when the same vendor supplies the system of record for measuring them. The buyer is a large enterprise, usually with more than a billion in managed spend. Nothing is published; third-party estimates put GEP SMART deployments starting around half a million US dollars a year, scaled by managed spend, modules and users. The trade-off is concentration. Awarding software, consulting and operations to one vendor removes the internal capability to evaluate whether the vendor is performing, and unwinding a combined engagement is harder than replacing a piece of software.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about GEP SMART.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

No. It sells procurement software, procurement consulting and outsourced procurement operations, and deals often combine all three.
Not published. Third parties report deployments from around 500,000 USD a year, scaled by managed spend, modules and users.
GEP typically does, which shortens the project but reduces independent advice during and after it.
Both are single-platform enterprise source-to-pay. GEP adds consulting and managed services; Ivalua is software only and stronger on direct materials.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for GEP SMART, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish.
