What Wordbee does
Wordbee is a translation management system with a CAT editor, translation memory, terminology management and a business operations layer covering quotes, jobs, vendors and invoicing. It is built and run by Wordbee, based in Belvaux, Luxembourg. Content arrives through connectors for around a dozen content management systems, the Beebox middleware, a Google Sheets two-way sync, and a REST API with webhooks that is included on every plan rather than reserved for a higher tier. The distinguishing thing is the pricing unit and the honesty about it. Wordbee charges 150 EUR per power user per month, billed annually, and says in its own material that you pay for capabilities rather than per word or per project. A power user is a project manager, administrator or team lead. Translators and reviewers working in the CAT editor are counted separately as linguists, and requesters who only submit content are unlimited on every plan. For an organisation whose word volume is growing but whose coordination headcount is not, that turns a variable cost into a fixed one, which is the opposite of what every per-word competitor offers and is the entire reason to look at it. Buyers are in-house localisation teams and small to mid-sized language service providers in Europe that want project management and financial operations in the same system. The trade-off is the contract. None of that is unusual in enterprise software; all of it is unusual to find written down before a sales call, and it should be modelled into any three-year comparison.

Where it falls short
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Wordbee.
- The terms of service reserve an annual price increase equal to consumer price inflation plus two percent, so a three-year cost model built on the first-year price will understate the third year by roughly a tenth even in low inflation.
- Setup is a separate, mandatory-feeling charge of 2,500 EUR for a standard cloud deployment or 5,000 EUR for a multi-provider one, which for a small team can exceed the first year of subscription for two power users.
- The initial term is one year, it renews automatically, sixty days written notice is required to stop it, and fees are stated as non-cancellable and non-refundable, so an unhappy customer pays out the year.
- The Agentic AI add-on starts at 5,400 EUR a year on top of the subscription and is billed separately, so the automation the product now markets most heavily is not in the 150 EUR figure at all.
- It is a small Luxembourg company with a minority outside shareholder and no large investor behind it, which keeps the product focused but means fewer third-party consultants to hire and a smaller pool of people who already know the system.
