The short version
- Each has a real cost: Wordbee the terms of service reserve an annual price increase equal to consumer price inflation plus two percent, so a three-year cost model built on the first-year price will understate the third year by roughly a tenth even in low inflation.; XTM Cloud no pricing is published for any product in the range, and unlike most quoted vendors XTM does not even disclose the unit of measure, so a buyer cannot tell whether to forecast seats, words or projects before the first sales call.
- They diverge on capability: Wordbee covers Flat per power user pricing, XTM Cloud covers Workflow engine.
- Prices and features above were last checked on 31 August 2026.

Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Wordbee
- The terms of service reserve an annual price increase equal to consumer price inflation plus two percent, so a three-year cost model built on the first-year price will understate the third year by roughly a tenth even in low inflation.
- Setup is a separate, mandatory-feeling charge of 2,500 EUR for a standard cloud deployment or 5,000 EUR for a multi-provider one, which for a small team can exceed the first year of subscription for two power users.
- The initial term is one year, it renews automatically, sixty days written notice is required to stop it, and fees are stated as non-cancellable and non-refundable, so an unhappy customer pays out the year.
- The Agentic AI add-on starts at 5,400 EUR a year on top of the subscription and is billed separately, so the automation the product now markets most heavily is not in the 150 EUR figure at all.
- It is a small Luxembourg company with a minority outside shareholder and no large investor behind it, which keeps the product focused but means fewer third-party consultants to hire and a smaller pool of people who already know the system.
XTM Cloud
- No pricing is published for any product in the range, and unlike most quoted vendors XTM does not even disclose the unit of measure, so a buyer cannot tell whether to forecast seats, words or projects before the first sales call.
- XTM and Transifex are now the same company, so a shortlist containing both is not the competitive comparison it appears to be and the pricing pressure a buyer expects from playing them against each other does not exist.
- The acquisition run of Rigi, Locale, Transifex and TXTOmedia between 2023 and 2025 has created overlapping capability, and which product line receives sustained investment is a question the vendor has not answered publicly.
- Private-equity ownership since 2021 tends to show up at renewal rather than at signature, so the first-year price is a poor guide to the three-year cost and multi-year terms are worth negotiating up front.
- Leadership has turned over repeatedly, with the chief executive appointed in January 2023 resigning in October 2025 and three directors leaving in March 2023, which is a poor signal for roadmap continuity on a multi-year platform commitment.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Wordbee: Is Wordbee priced per word?
No. The vendor states explicitly that plans are priced per power user and billed annually, not per word or per project, which is the main reason to consider it over per-word competitors.
XTM Cloud: What does XTM Cloud cost?
The vendor publishes no prices and no pricing unit. Every product line on the pricing page routes to a sales conversation, so budgeting requires a scoping exercise before any comparison is possible.
Wordbee: Who counts as a power user?
Project managers, administrators and team leads who manage workflows, assign jobs and configure the platform. Translators and reviewers are counted as linguists, and requesters who only submit content are unlimited and free.
XTM Cloud: Who owns XTM?
K1 Investment Management, an American investment firm, through XTM Holdings, Inc. The founders ceased to hold controlling stakes in January 2021. XTRF is a sister portfolio company acquired separately in 2021.
Wordbee: What is the real first-year cost?
The subscription plus a setup fee of 2,500 EUR or 5,000 EUR depending on deployment. Add the Agentic add-on from 5,400 EUR a year if you want the AI workflows.
XTM Cloud: Is Transifex the same company now?
Yes. XTM acquired Transifex in January 2025. They remain separate products with separate pricing pages, but they share an owner.
Wordbee: Can I pay monthly?
No. The vendor states that all plans are billed annually, in EUR, USD, GBP or CHF.
XTM Cloud: Has the website moved?
Yes. xtm.cloud and xtm-intl.com now redirect to xtm.ai, and the documentation sits at help.xtm.ai.
