What Veo does

Veo sells a fixed camera unit that records a wide, high-resolution view of an entire pitch from a single tripod position. The recording is uploaded to Veo cloud, where the software pans and zooms a virtual camera to follow the ball, producing a watchable match video without an operator. Clubs then tag clips, build highlight reels and share footage with players. This is the distinction that matters when comparing video products, because two very different purchases are sold in near-identical language. Veo is automated capture hardware: it exists to create footage that did not previously exist, at clubs with nobody available to film. Tagging and analysis tools, by contrast, run on footage you already have and are worthless without it. A club that already has a camera operator and a library of match video is buying the wrong thing here, and a club with no footage at all cannot be helped by an analysis package. Buyers are amateur and semi-professional clubs, academies and schools without dedicated filming staff. The trade-off is total cost and dependency: the camera is capital, the subscription is recurring, the footage lives in Veo cloud, and the hardware loses most of its usefulness if the subscription lapses. Recording matches also means recording children in most of these settings, which is a consent and data protection question the club rather than the vendor has to answer.

The camera has to be present, so away fixtures at grounds without a Veo produce no footage and half the season goes unrecorded unless the opposition also owns one.
Automatic tracking degrades in rain, low light, snow and when the tripod is mounted too low, and a poorly tracked match is close to unwatchable.
Uploads are large and depend on the club broadband, so processing after a weekend of fixtures can take hours and rural clubhouses are the worst affected.
The subscription is the product; if it lapses, the camera you bought becomes a recording device with nowhere useful to send the footage.
Filming amateur sport almost always means filming minors, and the club is the party responsible for consent, retention and who can access the footage, not the vendor hosting it.
