Windows video tagging software that works on footage you already have, sold in tiers

As of 31 August 2026, Nacsport's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Desktop match analysis software from the Canary Islands that codes video you filmed yourself with any camera. Softwr lists it under Sports. Nacsport is available on Windows.

Overview

What Nacsport does

Nacsport is video coding software. You import match footage from whatever recorded it, build a button template for the events you care about, tag them live or after the match, and produce filtered clip lists, matrices and presentations. It is sold in a ladder of editions from a basic tagging tool up to versions with database queries, drawing tools and integrated data output. This is the other side of the sports video purchase and the distinction buyers most often get wrong. Nacsport is software applied to footage you already have; it does not film anything and it does not care what camera produced the file. An automated camera system, by contrast, exists to create footage where none existed. A club with a parent who films every match and no analysis capability needs this. A club with an analyst and no footage needs a camera. The two are marketed in overlapping language and cost very different amounts. Buyers are semi-professional clubs, academies, national governing bodies and individual analysts, particularly outside the English-speaking market where Nacsport is long established. The trade-off is manual labour and platform. Tagging is human work, several hours per match at any depth, and the software runs on Windows only, which quietly excludes coaching staff working on Macs.

What people use it for

  • A club that already films matches and needs to turn the footage into coaching material
  • An analyst working across several teams who needs a licence rather than a hardware fleet
  • A governing body training analysts on a tagging workflow that is not tied to one camera vendor
  • A budget-limited team choosing between a camera system and analysis capability, where footage already exists

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Nacsport.

  • It runs on Windows only, so coaching staff on Macs need a virtual machine or a second computer, and the cost of that rarely appears in the quotation.
  • Capability is gated by edition, and buyers routinely discover that the query or export feature they assumed was included sits two tiers up.
  • All tagging is manual, so a properly coded match costs hours of staff time and the software does nothing to reduce that.
  • Sharing clips with players needs a separate platform, because this is desktop analysis software rather than a hosted team environment.
  • The skill lives in the person who built the templates, and when an analyst or volunteer leaves, the coding system usually leaves with them.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Do I need a special camera?

No. It works with any video file, which is the point. If you have no footage at all, buy a way to record before buying analysis software.

Does it run on a Mac?

No. It is Windows software, so Mac users need a virtual machine or a separate Windows computer.

Is it a subscription or a purchase?

Editions are licensed, with different terms by edition and region. Ask specifically whether your quotation is perpetual or annual, because both are sold.
