Galileo: If your programme is United States centred and you want an established domestic processor

Cloud issuer processing across emerging and developed markets
As of 1 September 2026, Paymentology's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A global issuer processor operating in more than fifty countries, formed from the merger of Paymentology and Tutuka. Softwr lists it under APIs. Paymentology is available on Web, API.
Overview
Paymentology processes card transactions for issuers: authorisation, real time data, tokenisation, virtual and physical card issuance, and programme management across debit, prepaid and credit. It runs in the cloud with regional deployment, and after Paymentology and Tutuka merged in 2022 it operates across Africa, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America under the Paymentology name. The distinguishing fact is geographic reach into markets that hosted United States and European processors do not certify in. If you are launching a card product in Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines or across the Gulf, the shortlist of processors with live network certification, local scheme relationships and settlement experience is short, and Paymentology is usually on it. That is worth more than feature parity, because a processor without local certification simply cannot launch you. Buyers are neobanks, telcos, mobile money operators and banks in emerging markets, plus established issuers expanding into new regions. The trade offs a buyer must plan for: Paymentology is a processor, not a licence holder, so you still need an issuing licence or a sponsor bank in every market; pricing is per transaction and per active card with minimums, so dormant cards in a low activity portfolio cost money; and running one processor across many regulators does not remove the need for local compliance, settlement accounts and scheme membership in each.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Paymentology.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

No. You need your own issuing licence or a sponsor bank in each market; Paymentology processes the transactions.
Per transaction and per active card, with a monthly minimum. Dormant cards still cost, so model your activation rate.
Network certification and live programmes in markets where those processors do not operate, which decides feasibility rather than preference.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Paymentology, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
