HYCU began as a purpose-built backup product for Nutanix and has become a broader data protection service covering virtual machines, physical servers, cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, Kubernetes, databases and a long list of SaaS applications. The R-Cloud platform includes a development kit that allows new data sources to be integrated without waiting for a vendor release cycle, which is how the supported source count grew so quickly.
