AccuRanker: If you need daily rank tracking with longer history and competitor visibility, which GSC does not provide

Google's free tool for monitoring how a site appears in Search
As of 1 September 2026, Google Search Console is free to use. The only source of Google's own view of a site: real click and impression data by query, indexing status, and manual actions. Softwr lists it under SEO. Google Search Console is made by Google LLC, available on Web.
Overview
Search Console is Google's free webmaster tool, reporting on search performance (clicks, impressions, average position and CTR by query and page), index coverage, sitemap processing, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, structured data validity and manual or security actions taken against a site. Data comes directly from Google's logs rather than from a third-party crawl or scrape, which is why every SEO tool that shows rankings, from AccuRanker to Semrush, treats a GSC connection as a primary or supplementary data source rather than a competitor to it. The commercial fact worth knowing is what it deliberately does not do. Performance data is capped at 16 months of history, query rows are sampled and anonymised below a low-volume threshold so long-tail queries vanish from reports, and the API rate limits make bulk export slow for large sites. Every paid rank tracker and SEO suite on the market sells the ability to keep more history, track more keywords at daily granularity, or blend GSC data with competitor visibility that Google will never disclose. Search Console is not a lesser rank tracker; it is the ground truth that the paid tools reformat, extend or benchmark against. Every site owner with a Google account should verify a property in it regardless of what else they buy, because it is the only channel through which Google will tell you about indexing problems, manual penalties, or security issues directly. The trade-off is that it reports only Google traffic, only in aggregate, and only after Google is ready to show it, so it cannot forecast, cannot see Bing or ChatGPT referral traffic, and cannot be used alone for competitive analysis.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Google Search Console.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Answered, with sources
Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.
No. It has never had a paid tier and Google has given no indication of introducing one.
GSC reports averaged position across many searches, devices and locations over the reporting period; a rank tracker takes a single snapshot from a defined location, so the two numbers measure different things.
For your own site's actual click and impression data, yes; for daily position tracking, historical trend charts beyond 16 months, or any visibility into competitors, no.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Google Search Console, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
