Thought Machine: If you want an independent cloud native core with a code based product engine

Cloud native core banking, sold as Finxact from Fiserv since the 2022 acquisition
As of 1 September 2026, Finxact's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. A United States cloud native core still marketed under its own name after Fiserv acquired it in 2022, which is the point: it gives a bank modern architecture with an incumbent processor's balance sheet and integrations behind it. Softwr lists it under Technology. Finxact is made by Fiserv, available on Web, API.
Overview
Finxact is an API first, cloud native core banking platform covering deposits, lending and payments, designed to be configured through APIs rather than through vendor change requests. Fiserv acquired it in 2022 and, unusually for a core banking acquisition, kept the brand: it is still sold as Finxact from Fiserv, and Fiserv continues to win named core deals with it, including a core banking relationship with Flagstar Bank and community bank deployments such as Thread Bank. The fact that changes a shortlist is the ownership itself. A bank choosing between Finxact and an independent challenger core is choosing between a modern platform backed by one of the largest United States processors, with existing connections to Fiserv card processing, payments and digital channels, and an independent supplier with less to sell you but also less institutional inertia. Fiserv ownership reduces vendor viability risk, which is a real consideration when a core runs for a decade or more. It also raises a different risk: Fiserv sells several cores, and a bank should ask for explicit written investment commitments for Finxact rather than assume its roadmap is safe simply because the brand survived. Buyers are United States banks, from community institutions to large regionals, and embedded banking sponsors. The trade offs are the standard ones of core replacement: multi year migration, integration to a large downstream estate, and a licence fee that is a fraction of total programme cost. Finxact is a United States product, so international banks should look elsewhere.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Finxact.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.

Yes. Fiserv acquired it in 2022 and continues to market it as Finxact from Fiserv, winning named core deals with it.
Yes, API first with real time posting on public cloud, rather than a hosted version of a legacy core.
Plan in years. Even a focused deployment is a multi year programme once integration and data migration are counted.

Softwr does not host reviews and shows no star rating for Finxact, because a rating we did not collect is not ours to publish. What is here is the pricing and platform detail from the vendor’s own pages, limitations we could state concretely, and alternatives a reviewer confirmed people weigh against it.
