Farmbrite

Farm record keeping, livestock and crop management for small and mid-sized operations

As of 30 August 2026, Farmbrite starts at $29/month. Farm management software for operations too small for an agribusiness platform and too complex for a spreadsheet. Softwr lists it under Agriculture. Farmbrite is available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Farmbrite does

Farmbrite is a browser and mobile application for running the records of a working farm. It covers livestock records, health and treatment history, breeding and genealogy, grazing and pasture rotation, crop and field planning, harvest traceability, inventory, task scheduling for staff, timesheets, an accounting ledger with Schedule F tax reporting, and a small e-commerce storefront for direct sales. The distinguishing thing is the pricing structure, and it is worth understanding before shortlisting. Almost every other vendor in agriculture quotes privately. Farmbrite publishes a rate card that starts at 29 dollars a month and tops out at 109 dollars a month for a combined crop and livestock operation, and the tiers are gated on animal counts rather than seats. Essentials allows up to 300 active animals, Performance up to 500, Premium up to 5,000 and above. Team members are unlimited from the Performance tier upward. That inversion matters commercially: a farm with twelve casual workers and eighty head of cattle pays the entry rate, while a farm with two people and 400 head pays more. The buyers are owner-operators and family farms, diversified market gardens, small ranches and grazing operations, plus a long tail of hobby and lifestyle farms that want auditable records for organic or grass-fed certification. The trade-off is that this is a records system, not an agronomy or precision agriculture platform. There is no machine telemetry, no variable-rate prescription writing and no yield-map import, so a farm running guidance hardware keeps a second system for that work. The company is small and support is email and help centre based, with a named account manager only on the top tier.

What people use it for

  • A family farm keeping treatment and withdrawal records that an organic or grass-fed certifier will inspect
  • A grazing operation planning pasture rotation and stocking rates without building another spreadsheet
  • A diversified market garden that sells direct and wants planning, harvest records and a small storefront in one place
  • A small ranch that needs individual animal history and genealogy but cannot justify an enterprise herd platform

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Farmbrite.

  • Tiers are capped on active animal counts, so herd growth rather than headcount growth forces an upgrade, and a good calving season can push a farm into the next price band mid-year.
  • The plans are split into separate Livestock, Crop and Complete product lines, so an operation that starts on a crop plan and later adds stock pays the combined rate rather than a small increment.
  • The accounting module is built around United States Schedule F tax reporting, so farms elsewhere get bookkeeping with a tax output they cannot file.
  • There is no precision agriculture layer at all, meaning no machine telemetry, no variable-rate prescriptions and no yield-map import, so anyone running guidance hardware maintains a second platform alongside it.
  • Offline capability in the mobile app is limited, and record keeping in paddocks or sheds without signal ends up being written down and re-entered later, which is exactly the workflow the software is meant to remove.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does Farmbrite charge per user?

Not on most tiers. Essentials caps team members at five or ten depending on the plan, and Performance and Premium allow unlimited team members. Cost is driven by animal count instead.

Can it replace a precision agriculture platform?

No. There is no equipment telemetry, prescription writing or yield-map import, so it sits alongside those tools rather than replacing them.

Is there a discount for new farmers?

Yes. Farmbrite publishes discounts of up to 50 percent for three years for new farmers and up to 65 percent for non-profits.

Can I run both crops and livestock?

Yes, on the Complete plans. The separate Livestock and Crop plans only cover their own side.
