Tricentis Tosca

The short version
- Only Wrike has a free tier, so it costs nothing to try first.
- Each has a real cost: Tricentis Tosca licensing is quoted per workstation at enterprise figures, so the tool only pays back where testing headcount is already large; a team of five will not recover the cost.; Wrike seats are sold in blocks rather than singly: groups of 5 up to 30 seats, groups of 10 up to 100, and groups of 25 above that, so adding one person can mean paying for five
- They diverge on capability: Tricentis Tosca covers Model based test design, Wrike covers Interactive Gantt charts.

Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Tricentis Tosca
- Licensing is quoted per workstation at enterprise figures, so the tool only pays back where testing headcount is already large; a team of five will not recover the cost.
- Building the initial application model takes months and is usually done with paid consultants, meaning value arrives long after the invoice does.
- The authoring environment is Windows only and heavy, which sits awkwardly in organisations whose engineers work on macOS or Linux.
- Tricentis has assembled its portfolio through acquisitions, so products sold together vary in how deeply they are integrated and a buyer should verify the joins rather than the diagram.
- Skills are specific to Tosca and not transferable, so recruiting testers means hiring for a niche tool and losing a trained one hurts more than losing a Selenium engineer.
Wrike
- Seats are sold in blocks rather than singly: groups of 5 up to 30 seats, groups of 10 up to 100, and groups of 25 above that, so adding one person can mean paying for five
- The Team plan is limited to 2 to 15 users and Business to 5 to 200
- Business and above are annual subscriptions only
- Pinnacle and Apex pricing is not published
- AI actions are rationed by tier rather than unlimited

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Tricentis Tosca: Is Tosca scriptless?
Test assembly is scriptless, but non trivial estates still need TQL queries and custom modules, which is programming under another name.
Wrike: Are Gantt charts included in all plans?
Gantt charts are available in the Team plan ($10/user/month) and higher. The free plan has limited project visualization.
SourceTricentis Tosca: Why does it dominate SAP testing?
It holds SAP certification, covers SAP GUI and Fiori at transaction level, and is sold through the same integrators that run SAP programmes.
Wrike: Is AI included in the pricing?
Yes. As of January 2026, Wrike includes AI Agents and AI Priority Inbox in all plans at no extra cost, a major differentiator from competitors charging $20-40/user/month for AI.
SourceTricentis Tosca: Can it replace Selenium for a web only product?
It can, but the economics do not work. Model based testing pays off across large heterogeneous estates, not one web application.
