  • The product is now effectively sugarcane specific, so growers of anything other than cane or grapes will find little of the original broad crop coverage left.
  • The 2024 merger with Terraview means the company, product line and roadmap differ substantially from the Gamaya that raised money as a hyperspectral imaging startup, and older references describe a business that no longer exists.
  • Much of the commercial value is tied to Brazil's RenovaBio scheme, so a change in CBIO prices or programme rules would cut the return calculation directly and is entirely outside the vendor's control.
  • No pricing is published at any tier, and with an enterprise sales motion aimed at mills, a single grower has little chance of a fast or cheap engagement.
  • As a small European company selling into Brazil, India and southern Africa, local support depth and language coverage are stretched, and implementation depends on partners rather than the vendor.

Lely Horizon

  • Billing is per lactating cow, so the software cost grows with the herd indefinitely and a farm that expands from 120 to 200 cows takes a permanent software cost increase it did not budget when it bought the robots.
  • Horizon is not optional: the barn equipment depends on it, so the subscription cannot be cancelled in a difficult year the way a discretionary analytics tool can, which removes any negotiating position at renewal.
  • It manages Lely equipment and effectively nothing else, so a farm running a Lely robot alongside a conventional parlour or another manufacturer's feeder ends up with two systems and no combined cow record.
  • The migration from the older T4C system was compulsory and rebuilt the interface and reporting, and farms that had years of T4C reports and custom lists found the equivalents either missing or shaped differently, costing retraining time.

Yes. Gamaya merged with Terraview in July 2024 and the combined company trades as GAMAYA from Winterthur, Switzerland.

As a subscription per lactating cow milked by the Astronaut robots, in Basic, Control and Advance tiers. Lely does not publish rates; the local Lely Center quotes them.

Sugarcane primarily, with grapes from the Terraview side. The broad multi-crop hyperspectral ambition of the earlier company is gone.
