Sessions

Meetings and webinars with a prepared agenda, interactive blocks and a recorded outcome

As of 1 September 2026, Sessions is free to use. Sessions is a meeting and webinar platform built around preparing the call before it happens: agendas, embedded documents, polls and interactive blocks are laid out in advance and run in sequence. Softwr lists it under Communication. Sessions is made by Sessions Technologies, available on Web.

Overview

What Sessions does

Sessions is a browser-based platform for running structured meetings, workshops, demos and webinars. Rather than opening an empty video room, an organiser builds an agenda of timed blocks in advance, each of which can carry a slide, an embedded document, a Miro board, a poll, a question-and-answer segment or a breakout. During the call the host advances through the blocks, and afterwards the platform produces a recording, a transcript, a summary and the collected poll and question responses tied back to each agenda item. Registration pages, scheduling links and a resource library for reusable agendas sit around it. The distinguishing idea is that meeting quality is a preparation problem rather than a video problem. Anyone can start a Zoom call; the reason most calls waste time is that nobody structured them. Sessions makes the structure the artefact, which is why it works better for recurring formats such as a sales demo, an onboarding workshop or a training session than for spontaneous internal calls. That also defines its ceiling: it will not displace Teams or Meet as the everyday internal tool, and it is not trying to. The company is based in Bucharest with a New York presence, founded in 2020, and it raised around 9 million euros of which roughly half came from the founder himself alongside EarlyBird, LAUNCHub and Stride. That funding shape matters: a founder-funded European vendor competing against Zoom and Microsoft has a longer runway and less pressure to sell than a purely venture-backed one, but it is still a small company and a buyer standardising a customer-facing process on it should hold an exit plan. It has also sold lifetime deals through AppSumo, which brings a support population that pays nothing recurring.

What people use it for

  • A sales team running the same product demo dozens of times a month that wants the agenda, the deck, the poll and the follow-up questions to be one reusable object rather than rebuilt each time.
  • A trainer delivering a recurring workshop where breakouts, exercises and materials need to run in a fixed order without the host juggling tabs live.
  • A customer success team running onboarding sessions that must produce a consistent record of what was covered and what the customer asked.
  • A small company running public webinars that needs registration, reminders, attendance data and a recording without buying a separate webinar platform alongside its meeting tool.

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Sessions.

  • It will not replace Microsoft Teams or Google Meet for everyday internal calls, so most buyers end up paying for two conferencing tools and asking staff to know which one to open.
  • The vendor is small and European, competing directly against Zoom and Microsoft, so any team standardising a customer-facing process on it should keep an exit plan and export recordings regularly.
  • The preparation model that makes it good is also overhead; a meeting nobody had time to structure runs no better in Sessions than anywhere else, and teams that will not prepare get no benefit from the licence.
  • Lifetime deals sold through AppSumo mean a segment of the user base pays nothing recurring, which shapes support priorities and has previously produced friction when plan terms changed.
  • It is browser-only, which keeps participation frictionless but leaves it more exposed to browser and network conditions than a native client, and there is no desktop application to fall back on when a call misbehaves.
