What Pigment does
Pigment is a multidimensional planning tool. You build models over typed dimensions such as time, entity, product and employee, write formulas that reference dimensions by name, and connect them to source data from the ERP, CRM and HR systems. Use cases span financial planning and consolidation, sales capacity and quota planning, workforce planning and supply planning, with scenario comparison and version control across all of them. What distinguishes it against the incumbents is the modelling experience. Formulas read closer to business language than Anaplan's syntax, changes recalculate quickly enough for live scenario work in a meeting, and the interface is presentable enough that the output goes to the board rather than being re-exported into slides. That matters commercially because the failure mode of planning platforms is that finance builds the model and then quietly keeps running the real numbers in Excel. Buyers are mid-market and enterprise finance organisations, typically ones already frustrated by Anaplan or by a spreadsheet estate that nobody can audit. The trade off is cost and dependency. Pigment publishes no pricing; the commercial structure is a platform fee, per use-case fees and licences split into editor, contributor and explorer tiers, so the cost grows with every new planning process you onboard. Implementation is a partner-led project, not a self-service signup.
