Omada Identity

Identity governance and administration focused on access certification and compliance evidence

As of 1 September 2026, Omada Identity's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Identity governance that gets deployed in months rather than years, which is the whole pitch against the incumbents. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. Omada Identity is made by Omada A/S, available on Web.

Overview

What Omada Identity does

Omada Identity is an identity governance and administration platform. It handles joiner, mover and leaver processes, role modelling, access request workflows, segregation of duties policy, and the access certification campaigns that auditors ask for. It is delivered as SaaS on Microsoft Azure with a defined deployment methodology that is explicitly positioned against the multi-year implementations that gave the IGA category its reputation. The distinguishing commercial claim is time to value. Traditional IGA deployments became notorious for consuming years of consultancy before producing a single certification campaign, and many stalled entirely. Omada packages a best-practice process framework and pushes customers to configure rather than customise. That is a real difference, but it also means organisations with genuinely unusual entitlement models are pushed toward the standard process or back into custom work. Buyers are European and North American mid-market and enterprise organisations, often in regulated sectors, with a strong Microsoft footprint. The trade-off is scope: Omada governs access but does not provide single sign-on, multi-factor authentication or privileged session management. Those are separate products from separate vendors, and buyers who assumed identity governance meant identity management discover three subscriptions where they budgeted one.

What people use it for

  • An organisation whose auditors flagged that access recertification is run on spreadsheets and cannot be evidenced
  • A company with high staff turnover where leavers keep access to systems weeks after their last day
  • A regulated firm needing documented segregation of duties across finance and ERP entitlements
  • A business that abandoned a previous multi-year IGA implementation and needs something that reaches production this year

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Omada Identity.

  • Pricing is per managed identity, so organisations with large numbers of contractors, service accounts or seasonal staff pay governance fees on identities nobody is really governing.
  • It governs access but provides no single sign-on, multi-factor authentication or privileged session management, so it is always a second or third identity subscription rather than a consolidation.
  • The fast-deployment promise depends on accepting its standard process model; organisations with genuinely unusual entitlement structures end up in custom work and the timeline advantage disappears.
  • Connector coverage is strong for mainstream enterprise systems and thin for bespoke or industry-specific applications, and each custom connector is a project with ongoing maintenance.
  • Data quality in the HR system determines whether joiner mover leaver automation works, so companies with messy HR records find the tool exposes that problem rather than solving it.

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does it provide single sign-on?

No. Omada is governance only. You still need Entra ID, Okta or equivalent for authentication.

How is it licensed?

Per managed identity per year. Count contractors and service accounts before you compare quotes, because they usually count.

How long does deployment take?

Months rather than years is the positioning, and it is achievable if you accept the standard process model. Heavy customisation returns you to traditional IGA timelines.
