Overview
nTop builds geometry from a graph of operations rather than a feature history on a solid model. Because it represents shape implicitly using fields rather than explicit surfaces, operations that scale badly in a conventional kernel, such as generating a variable-density lattice through a whole part or a thousand-channel heat exchanger, remain tractable. Models are parametric and reusable: an engineer builds the logic once and reruns it as requirements change, which is how teams generate and evaluate large numbers of design variants systematically.\n\nThe capability that changes shortlists is field-driven design. Simulation results, such as stress or thermal fields, can drive geometry directly, so lattice density or wall thickness varies with the load the part actually sees rather than with a designer’s judgement. In additive manufacturing, where the geometry is essentially free to make, that is the difference between printing a conventionally designed part and printing something that could not be made any other way.\n\nBuyers are aerospace, defence, automotive and medical device engineering teams, generally with additive manufacturing capability already in place and a specific weight, thermal or lattice problem. The trade-off is that nTop is a specialist tool used alongside mainstream CAD, not a replacement for it, so you are adding a licence, a workflow handoff and an unusual skill set. Engineers used to feature-based modelling need real retraining to think in implicit fields, and that ramp is the most common reason licences go unused.
