Knowlarity

Indian cloud telephony for virtual numbers, IVR and call centre operations

As of 31 August 2026, Knowlarity starts at 1999/month. A cloud telephony provider sold in India and the UAE only, now a Gupshup company but still trading under its own name with its own published rupee pricing. Softwr lists it under Telecommunications. Knowlarity is made by Knowlarity Communications, a Gupshup company, available on Web, iOS, Android, API.

Overview

What Knowlarity does

Knowlarity sells cloud telephony to Indian businesses: virtual numbers, toll-free numbers, IVR, click to call, number masking, missed call services, automated outbound calling, a cloud contact centre with agent softphones, and SMS and WhatsApp Business API messaging alongside the voice products. Its best-known packaged product is SuperReceptionist, a virtual receptionist and call management service used by small businesses to route and record calls without a PBX. It was acquired by Gupshup, the conversational messaging platform, in 2021. That matters for the roadmap, since Gupshup is a messaging company and voice is now one channel inside a broader conversational engagement story, but Knowlarity has not been absorbed: it still runs its own site, its own product line and its own published pricing, which is more than can be said for several products acquired in the same period. Cloud contact centre plans start at 1,999 rupees per agent per month for unlimited inbound, 2,999 for inbound and outbound, and 3,499 with lead management, on an all-India single rate with a thirty second billing pulse. The fact that decides most shortlists is geography. Knowlarity sells to India and the UAE, and the site offers exactly those two country selectors. Numbers, compliance and TRAI regulatory handling including DLT registration for SMS are built for India, and there is no route to buying it for a European or American operation. Buyers are Indian SMEs, banks, education companies, hospitals, real estate and logistics firms that need call tracking and lead capture with Indian numbering.

What people use it for

  • An Indian business needs call tracking against marketing campaigns using virtual numbers with an all-India single rate rather than circle-by-circle pricing.
  • A marketplace or delivery operation must connect customers and riders without exposing either phone number, which is what the number masking product exists for.
  • A company running rural or low-data campaigns wants missed call as a lead capture and opt-in channel, which has no equivalent in Western telephony platforms.
  • An Indian contact centre wants published per-agent pricing it can budget against instead of the quote-only approach taken by Ameyo, Genesys and the international vendors.

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Knowlarity.

  • It is sold only in India and the UAE, so an organisation outside those markets cannot buy it at all regardless of how well it fits.
  • Ownership by Gupshup means voice sits inside a messaging-first company, and the strategic emphasis and investment now favour WhatsApp and conversational messaging over the traditional telephony line.
  • Published pricing covers the contact centre agent seats, but numbers, minutes beyond bundles, SMS, WhatsApp conversations and speech analytics are separate charges, so the monthly bill is materially above the headline per-agent figure.
  • SMS in India requires DLT registration of headers and templates under TRAI rules, and that compliance overhead falls on the customer, delaying campaign launches in a way buyers from other markets do not expect.
  • The contact centre feature depth, reporting and workforce management are thin next to Genesys, Five9 or NICE, so a large or complex operation will find quality management and forecasting missing rather than merely simpler.

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Is Knowlarity still a product after the Gupshup acquisition?

Yes. Gupshup acquired it in 2021 but Knowlarity still has its own website, product line and published pricing rather than being folded into the Gupshup brand.

Can I buy Knowlarity outside India?

Only in the UAE. The site offers India and UAE selectors and the numbering, compliance and support are built for those markets.

What does a contact centre seat cost?

From 1,999 rupees per agent per month for unlimited inbound, 2,999 for inbound and outbound, and 3,499 with lead management, before numbers, minutes and messaging.

What is a missed call service?

A number that customers ring and hang up on, registering an opt-in or lead at no cost to the caller. It is a mainstream Indian marketing channel with no Western equivalent.
