Privileged access management, endpoint privilege management and secure remote access
As of 1 September 2026, BeyondTrust's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. Privileged access management with an unusually strong remote support product attached. Softwr lists it under Cybersecurity. BeyondTrust is available on Windows, macOS, Linux, Web.
Overview
BeyondTrust sells three related product lines: Password Safe for privileged credential vaulting and session management, Endpoint Privilege Management for removing local administrator rights while allowing approved elevation, and Remote Support and Privileged Remote Access for controlled third-party and helpdesk connections. They are commonly bought separately and by different teams. The distinguishing capability is endpoint privilege management. Removing local administrator rights is one of the highest-value controls available and is mandated by frameworks including Cyber Essentials in the UK, but naive removal floods the service desk. BeyondTrust applies rules that elevate specific applications and actions rather than users, so the control lands without the support cost that usually kills the project. Its remote access products also serve a distinct buyer, vendor and contractor access, where the requirement is session recording and credential injection so the third party never sees a password. Buyers are mid-market and enterprise security teams, often in regulated sectors where privileged session recording is an audit requirement. The trade-off is portfolio coherence. The products came from different origins, the consoles differ, and buying two or three of them does not produce one unified system, which is a common source of disappointment after a bundled purchase.
The honest half
Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about BeyondTrust.
Cross-shopped
Each pairing was judged by two reviewers asking whether a buyer would genuinely weigh the two against each other. The ones that failed were deleted rather than published.
