Weglot vs XTM Cloud

XTM Cloud
Translation
Enterprise translation management from XTM International, now the centre of a private-equity backed roll-up that also owns Transifex

The short version
- Only Weglot has a free tier, so it costs nothing to try first.
- Each has a real cost: Weglot free plan is capped at 2,000 words and a single language; XTM Cloud no pricing is published for any product in the range, and unlike most quoted vendors XTM does not even disclose the unit of measure, so a buyer cannot tell whether to forecast seats, words or projects before the first sales call.
- Prices and features above were last checked on 31 August 2026.
Where they differ

- Organisations already inside the XTM portfolio through Transifex, Rigi or XTRF that want to consolidate onto one vendornot Weglot
Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Weglot
- Free plan is capped at 2,000 words and a single language
- Starter plan at $17 per month is limited to 1 language; reaching 3 languages requires the $32 per month Business plan
- Word caps scale by tier from 10,000 on Starter up to 5,000,000 on the $769 per month Extended plan, with Enterprise priced on request beyond that
XTM Cloud
- No pricing is published for any product in the range, and unlike most quoted vendors XTM does not even disclose the unit of measure, so a buyer cannot tell whether to forecast seats, words or projects before the first sales call.
- XTM and Transifex are now the same company, so a shortlist containing both is not the competitive comparison it appears to be and the pricing pressure a buyer expects from playing them against each other does not exist.
- The acquisition run of Rigi, Locale, Transifex and TXTOmedia between 2023 and 2025 has created overlapping capability, and which product line receives sustained investment is a question the vendor has not answered publicly.
- Private-equity ownership since 2021 tends to show up at renewal rather than at signature, so the first-year price is a poor guide to the three-year cost and multi-year terms are worth negotiating up front.
- Leadership has turned over repeatedly, with the chief executive appointed in January 2023 resigning in October 2025 and three directors leaving in March 2023, which is a poor signal for roadmap continuity on a multi-year platform commitment.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Weglot: What is Weglot's pricing model?

SourceXTM Cloud: What does XTM Cloud cost?
The vendor publishes no prices and no pricing unit. Every product line on the pricing page routes to a sales conversation, so budgeting requires a scoping exercise before any comparison is possible.

Yes, all plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Users can test the platform before committing to a paid plan.
SourceXTM Cloud: Who owns XTM?
K1 Investment Management, an American investment firm, through XTM Holdings, Inc. The founders ceased to hold controlling stakes in January 2021. XTRF is a sister portfolio company acquired separately in 2021.
Weglot: What discount does Weglot offer for annual subscriptions?
Subscribe annually to receive 2 months free, effectively discounting your annual cost by one-sixth. You only pay the difference when upgrading plans mid-billing cycle.
SourceXTM Cloud: Is Transifex the same company now?
Yes. XTM acquired Transifex in January 2025. They remain separate products with separate pricing pages, but they share an owner.
Weglot: How does Weglot handle over-limit usage?
When accounts exceed their plan's word limit, Weglot sends email notifications. An auto-upgrade feature is available to automatically move to the next tier without service interruption.
SourceXTM Cloud: Has the website moved?
Yes. xtm.cloud and xtm-intl.com now redirect to xtm.ai, and the documentation sits at help.xtm.ai.
