  • It is a Windows .NET application at heart, so remote and mobile use is weaker than browser-native competitors and staff working on the docks are less well served.
  • The same vendor sells MARINAGO as its cloud product, which raises a real question about how much future development the desktop line receives.
  • Running it on your own servers means you own SQL Server licensing, backups and patching, which is an infrastructure cost and risk that never appears in the software quote.
  • Presence is concentrated in North America, so operators elsewhere face weaker support hours, local payment options and fuel and tax handling.

FleetMon had access to positions from both terrestrial AIS receiver stations and satellite AIS through partnership with exactEarth, providing undelayed signals from its network combined with global space-based tracking.

It is a Windows application with a hosted option. Scribble Software sells MARINAGO Cloud as its browser-native product.

FleetMon: What happened to FleetMon after 2024?

FleetMon was phased out from January 2024 as part of its integration into MarineTraffic following Kpler's acquisition of both platforms in March 2023. The FleetMon brand no longer accepts new registrations or offers new services.
