Pic-Time

Client galleries with an automated print store and marketing campaigns built in

As of 31 August 2026, Pic-Time is free to use. A gallery platform that treats print sales as a marketing problem rather than a storage problem. Softwr lists it under Photography. Pic-Time is made by Pic-Time Ltd, available on Web, iOS, Android.

Overview

What Pic-Time does

Pic-Time delivers client galleries, digital downloads and a print store fulfilled by regional labs, and layers automated sales campaigns on top: seasonal promotions, reminder sequences, wall art visualisers and album proofing that clients can comment on. Storage is metered by photo count and galleries are styled from designed templates rather than assembled by hand. What separates it from its rivals is that the store is designed to sell without the photographer intervening, and that the commercial terms change with the plan. Pic-Time bills a monthly or annual subscription and also applies a commission to store sales that differs between tiers, with the higher plans reducing or removing it. The commission is therefore the number that decides the comparison, not the advertised monthly price: a photographer selling several thousand in prints a year can pay more in percentage than the entire annual difference between the cheapest and dearest plan. It is bought by wedding and portrait photographers who want print revenue without running the campaigns themselves, and who care about how the gallery looks to a client. The trade-off is that there is no contracts, invoicing or booking module, so studio management stays in a separate product, and the automated campaigns send under your name whether or not the wording suits your clients.

What people use it for

  • A wedding photographer who wants print revenue from past clients without writing and sending the promotions personally
  • Studios where the gallery itself is part of the perceived product and a plain grid of thumbnails undersells the work
  • Album based workflows that need clients to comment on spreads rather than exchange PDFs by email
  • Photographers with clients in several countries who need orders fulfilled by a lab local to the client

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Pic-Time.

  • The commission on store sales means the true cost rises with your success, so a photographer with strong print revenue may pay far more than the subscription implies and should price the top tier against the percentage before choosing.
  • Storage is counted by photo, so high volume delivery pushes you up the tiers even when the files themselves are small.
  • There is no contracts, invoicing, booking or CRM module, so a working studio still pays for a separate management tool and reconciles two systems.
  • Lab coverage is uneven by country and some regions have a single partner, which removes any ability to shop for print quality or price.
  • The automated campaigns go out under your studio name on Pic-Time schedules, and photographers with a small or recently marketed client list can look pushy unless every sequence is edited by hand.

Pixieset: Includes a website and blog alongside the galleries, which is the cheaper answer if you want one vendor for your online presence

Adobe Lightroom: Adequate when you only need clients to select frames, since the web galleries come with a subscription you already pay for

Answered, with sources

Questions people ask

Each answer names the page it came from, so you can check it rather than take our word for it.

Does Pic-Time take a percentage of print sales?

Yes, and the rate depends on the plan you are on, with the higher tiers reducing it. Check the current rate for your tier, because it usually outweighs the monthly price difference.

Can it replace my studio management software?

No. There is no contract signing, invoicing or booking. Pic-Time covers delivery and sales only.

Do clients need an account to view a gallery?

No. Galleries open from a link with an optional password, and an email is only requested when a client downloads or orders.
