Yes, open source with no licence fee. Broadcom sells commercial support.
DataStax: How is DataStax priced?
DataStax (now part of IBM) does not publish pricing on its documentation homepage. Pricing information would need to be obtained through the Astra DB signup page or by contacting IBM directly.
SourceRabbitMQ: RabbitMQ or Kafka?
RabbitMQ is a message broker: simpler to run and better at flexible routing and work queues. Kafka is a replayable event log built for very high throughput streaming, and much heavier to operate.
DataStax: Is there an enterprise licensing option?
DataStax is now part of IBM. Enterprise customers should contact IBM directly for licensing agreements and enterprise-specific pricing.
SourceRabbitMQ: Can RabbitMQ replay messages?
Not in the way Kafka can. Messages are removed once acknowledged, so rebuilding state from history is not the model.
