Subscription flight tracking for iOS with predictive delay alerts

As of 1 September 2026, Flighty's pricing is not published; the vendor quotes on request. An iOS-only flight tracking app that pushes gate, delay and cancellation alerts, and tries to predict delays before the airline confirms them. Softwr lists it under Aviation. Flighty is made by Flighty Inc., available on iOS.

Overview

What Flighty does

Flighty tracks commercial flights from booking to landing, pulling FAA and ADS-B data plus its own delay prediction model to warn travellers of likely delays before airlines announce them. It shows gate assignments, baggage claim, taxi time, weather at both airports, and can auto-import flights from email confirmations or connected calendars. The distinguishing choice is platform and pricing rather than feature depth. Flighty is iOS-only, has never shipped an Android app, and runs entirely on subscription with a limited free tier that tracks far fewer flights than the paid product. That is a narrower bet than Flightradar24 or FlightAware, which are free-first and cross-platform with ads or a light premium tier; Flighty instead sells accuracy and notification speed to frequent flyers who already own an iPhone. Buyers are individual business travellers and frequent flyers, not airlines or agencies, and family plans exist for households tracking each other. The trade-off is straightforward: paying a recurring fee for a single-platform app when free cross-platform trackers exist, in exchange for predictive alerts and a lifetime purchase option most competitors do not offer.

What people use it for

  • A frequent business flyer who wants a delay warning before the gate agent announces it
  • An iPhone user willing to pay for a single well-maintained app instead of a free ad-supported one
  • A family wanting to see at a glance where a travelling relative currently is
  • A traveller who wants automatic flight import from confirmation emails without manual entry

The honest half

Where it falls short

Concrete and checkable, so you can decide whether any of them matter to you. This is the half of a review a vendor will not write about Flighty.

  • It is iOS-only, so a mixed-platform household or an Android user cannot use it at all.
  • The free tier tracks very few flights, so anyone who flies more than occasionally is pushed toward the subscription almost immediately.
  • Delay predictions are a probability model, not a guarantee, and can be wrong in either direction.
  • It depends on the same underlying ADS-B and airline feeds as free trackers, so the raw position data is not exclusive to Flighty.
  • A lifetime purchase is expensive relative to a year or two of the annual plan, so it only pays off for someone certain they will use it for years.
