Where each one falls short
Documented limitations, not opinions. Every one is a constraint you would hit in normal use.
Quizlet
- Free tier limited to basic features; advanced study modes require paid subscription
- Offline access only on mobile apps, not on web
- Free version shows ads throughout the platform
- Cannot export flashcard sets without upgrading to Plus
Weet
- The free tier is capped at three weets, which is far tighter than the free tiers of the screen recording tools it is compared against, so any real evaluation has to happen on the paid plan.
- Quizzes, learning paths, single sign on and GxP compliance are all Enterprise only, so the features that distinguish Weet from a screen recorder are not available on the 24 US dollar Business tier at all.
- Pricing is per creator, so an organisation that wants many occasional contributors pays full price for people who publish twice a year, and in practice content production concentrates on a few seats.
- It competes against Loom and Guidde, which have far larger installed bases and integration ecosystems, so a team standardising on Weet accepts a smaller vendor in a category with heavy consolidation pressure.
- It is not a full learning management system, so an organisation with formal compliance training obligations beyond video completion still needs an LMS alongside it, which undercuts the case for a separate video tool.

Answered from the vendors’ own pages
Quizlet: Does Quizlet have a free version?
Yes. Quizlet's free tier includes unlimited flashcard creation, access to standard study modes like Learn, Flashcards, and Test, and the ability to share sets publicly. However, free users see ads, have limited offline study options, and cannot export sets without upgrading.
SourceWeet: Is Weet still operating?
Yes. The site and pricing page are live and maintained, and there is no sunset or shutdown notice.
Quizlet: What is Quizlet Plus and what does it cost?
Quizlet Plus is the paid plan starting at $2.99 per month when billed annually ($35.99/year) and $7.99-$9.99 when billed monthly. It includes 3 practice tests per month, Q&A solutions, offline access on mobile, and ad-free studying.
SourceWeet: What does the free plan include?
Up to three weets with AI avatars, recording, editing and transcription. Three is a very low ceiling, so evaluate on Business.
Quizlet: Does Quizlet work offline?
Yes, offline study is available on iOS and Android mobile apps. The app automatically saves eight of your most recently used sets, and you can manually download additional sets. Study progress syncs automatically when you reconnect to the internet.
SourceWeet: What is GxP compliance and who needs it?
It is the regulated practice framework used in pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing where training records must be auditable. It is on the Enterprise tier only and is the main reason a regulated company would choose Weet.
Weet: Is it a learning management system?
No. It handles video training and quizzes, but formal compliance training programmes need a proper LMS alongside it.
